The calendar for the film festival is up! www.watersprite.org.uk/event/restless-panel/Restless Panel Start: 2nd March 2013 15:00 End: 2nd March 2013 16:30 Venue: St John's College Divinity Interested in the process of screen adaption? Come along to hear how William Boyd’s novel ‘Restless’ was transformed into a BBC television series which aired in December. The producer, Hilary Bevan Jones, will be joined by members of the cast and crew to discuss how they brought Boyd’s fresh take on the spy thriller to life. There's a link on that page to buy tickets. Rufus's name isn't mentioned, but neither is anyone else's, and I think it's safe to assume this is the panel he is on. Hmmmm. 2 March is a Saturday. If Rufus is attending that, he'd have to miss a matinee of OT. Can't see that happening, to be honest. A lot of people would have booked tickets for the play with the expectation of seeing him. Understudies are only usually deployed in case of illness, and I doubt Rufus would put the festival ahead of the play in any event.

Oh, excellent point! I forgot about the matinee. That's really a shame, either way.... I'm not sure how to confirm it, except to say that if anyone is going to purchase tickets, maybe she should try calling the festival organizers first.....

PGG, please see the last part of my post above: Understudies are only usually deployed in case of illness, and I doubt Rufus would put the festival ahead of the play in any event.

Restless Panel finishes at 16.30. Cambridge to London's West End. I think he would miss more than the matinee. Would that be happening, especially on a Saturday?

I think it's highly unlikely, jamolivej. Even if I wasn't a Rufus fan, if I'd booked to see the play and he was absent for anything other than illness, I'd want my money back.

Considering all the things I read about Rufus, his attitude to his work and how he treats his fans, I can hardly imagine that he would skip the matinee on Saturday.

I don't think so either.

He could theoretically do Cambridge to the theatre in time for the evening show but I doubt he would miss a matinee. Ah well, it conflicts with knitting anyway but I could call and ask just to be 100% certain

Quoll, If you are able to find out, we'd love to hear. I'm sorry you might lose an opportunity to see him.

Yes, I AM interested in the process of screen adaptation! ;D Too bad I don't live in the UK, but also too bad, if some were hoping to see Rufus there. Hope something's worked out and he's able to attend for you all!

Don't see anything else posted about this, so wonder if Rufus will be able to be there? Sounds very interesting. Wish I could go, but haven't found any $1,000 bills lying on the sidewalk lately, lol. Also, why is it so expensive to get a passport??? Does what they need to do to issue it really cost almost $150? Just sayin'....lol.

They probably want to keep us feisty US girls in the US...lol. It is good to have a passport...just in case. Hadnt heard if he showed up but unlikely due to the play.

Hi there
I was just about to write a post about yesterday - I travelled to beautiful Cambridge to view the Restless Panel - but I got sidetracked by something else so will post later this evening or tomorrow.
No Rufus of course, as was to be expected, not even a single cast member!! But nevertheless it was very interesting as was the panel beforehand.
More anon......x
