Thanks, Nell! I wish they'd roll it out to the UK! Me, too! $81,552 pledged in total - 163% of what they wanted! Fabulous amount !

, that's awesome that they got more than they needed! Wish I could've contributed when it first started - bad time to have messed up my checking.... But great news that the ball is rolling on this! ;D

Yay, its great how much they got from the pledges. I have never heard of the Kickstarter program before. Do you think this is done more often than not? It was fun to be a small part of.

Kickstarter and similar initiatives seem to be the next big thing. There was an interesting article in Time Magazine recently.

the Hollywood Reporter has published the first real review of Hotel Noir: www.hollywoodreporter.com/review/hotel-noir-film-review-378387It's not very favorable, but of course Rufus gets praise: "Still, Hotel Noir at least gets the look right. The stunning Gugino looks like she stepped out of the 1940s, and Sewall, despite his character’s being inexplicably British, is a worthy successor to Bogart and Mitchum." (They managed to spell his name correctly at the start of the review, but messed up when they said such a nice thing about him.)

You'd think they'd spellcheck these things before publishing them. Geez. I love the comparison to Robert Mitchum, though. I'm a fan of Mitchum, especially when he does film noir.
The review wasn't as horrible as I thought it might be, but it DID have this statement...
The purposefully anachronistic dialogue, often delivered at top speed, is more tiresome than witty, making one wonder why Mel Brooks never tried his hand at a private-eye spoof.
Ouch. :/

They were dazzled by his splendor - maybe that's the reason for the typo!
I'm still keen to see it!
