Take a deep breath, ladies and gentlemen! ca.movies.yahoo.com/news/sebastian-gutierrez-helmed-hotel-noir-taking-reservations-cannes-051816933.htmlSebastian Gutierrez-Helmed ‘Hotel Noir’ Taking Reservations At Cannes MarketEXCLUSIVE: The crime drama Hotel Noir, written and directed by Snakes On A Plane and Gothika scribe Sebastian Gutierrez, has wrapped in time for international buyers to take a look next month at the Cannes Film Festival & Market. Rufus Sewell, Danny DeVito, Carla Gugino, Rosario Dawson, Malin Akerman and Robert Forster star in the movie produced by Shangri-La Entertainment’s Steve Bing and Zach Schwartz as well as Gutiérrez. The story is set in 1950s Los Angeles and revolves around a detective holed up in a downtown hotel waiting for assassins to kill him. As a long night turns to day he meets various characters with haunted pasts of their own, and the truth of how he ended up in his nightmare situation is revealed. Gutierrez was in comfortable surroundings on the set — he worked with DeVito, Gugino and Dawson on his 2011 movie Girl Walks Into A Bar, dubbed the first major feature film to be distributed solely online. He had worked with Gugino and Forster on the short-lived 2003 ABC series Karen Sisco, which was produced by DeVito’s Jersey Television. Colleen Seldin of Locomotive Entertainment Group is repping Hotel Noir at Cannes. "a detective holed up in a downtown hotel waiting for assassins to kill him" - Oh, Rufus, is that you??

Now let's hope that this means that we'll soon have the opportunity to see Hotel Noir - now that ATTAM is not on the list of the films shown at the Cannes Film Festival (for details check the ATTAM thread, please).

Oh , what a great picture! Looks like they've got the black and white feel down just right. So does this mean that Rufus plays the main character?

it is great to know that 'Hotel Noir ' is nearer to be being shown . but when I googled about getting free films on YouTube, I read these are only available in the US and not UK and Europe.
Can anyone confirm if this is correct ?

I've looked over the selection at the Cannes Festival and it doesn't seem that the film will be playing there. I guess it's part of the "market" - maybe that means it's in private showings for distributors? Anyway, I hope that it gets picked up by someone for general release.

Oh my, oh, MY, OH MY!!!!!! Thank you, Adina! (Rueful and I were discussing only the other day the lack of info on this). WOO-HOO!! it is great to know that 'Hotel Noir ' is nearer to be being shown . but when I googled about getting free films on YouTube, I read these are only available in the US and not UK and Europe. Can anyone confirm if this is correct ?Frannie, we discussed this a few pages back - see Judy's link and Rueful's follow-on comment here: rufussewell.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=news&thread=1983&page=2#157230 Was it Wiki that you got the info? The good news is that, while only available initially online and (probably) US only, Girl Walks Into a Bar has now been/is about to be released on DVD, so I'm sure we'll see Hotel Noir released on DVD eventually, too. (If we don't see it "by other means" before then, that is.... ) I've looked over the selection at the Cannes Festival and it doesn't seem that the film will be playing there. I guess it's part of the "market" - maybe that means it's in private showings for distributors? Anyway, I hope that it gets picked up by someone for general release. Good point, Joyce - and therefore it could be that ATTAM is also viewing for the market, not in competiton, maybe?
