They do, kygal! There's no excuse - there is a very clear warning before the performance, including reminding patrons to turn them completely off, as the vibrate and lights are also disturbing. Surely they can last 80 minutes without being in contact with the outside world?! Another lovely comment, and a pic: Anne O' Neill. @annieon Entertaining evening at #Old Friends at the Harold Pinter Theatre - Rufus and Kirstin were mesmerising lockerz.com/s/279355401 11:28 PM - 25 Jan 13 Charles Fernyhough @cfernyhough Rufus Sewell funny, violent, simmering, obsessive as Deeley: must see. #oldtimes 9:31 PM - 25 Jan 13

Well said GE2 In the case of Old Times, there is only one person that I would ever forgive for this sin and that would be Rufus himself!! ;D But he is too much of a consummate (supremely accomplished or skilled) professional to ever let that happen unless the script dictated it. Several years ago I went to Wimbledon, and despite being repeatly told to switch them off, people still had their mobiles ringing during rallies. So unfair on, and disrespectful to the players IMHO. And as for the cinema...well...just don't get me started on that! Surely there are very few people who are that important!!

Last night was the first of the coin-toss decisions regarding who played Kate and who played Anna - Rufus performed the coin toss: tilly branson @tillybranson Tonight Rufus Sewell’s coin toss at stage door meant Kate was played by Lia Williams #oldtimes pic.twitter.com/fuj4uFzb 10:29 PM - 7 Feb 13

Ladies, PGG has opened a separate thread for the Getty pics, and I've added another pic from Twitter there. (Thanks for posting the original link, Adina !) Another nice tweet: kevin harrison @kevinharrison00 #Scott-Thomas excellent as ever. predictably so. Rufus Sewell surprisingly powerful in central role.
