New to the rooftop. Rufus has been my favorite actor for quite some time now. I have "lurked" here for a while and decided to introduce myself after seeing all those fantastic photos and reviews of you all getting to see the play. You all look so fantastic and it's nice to know that Rufus is as nice as I thought he would be. I'm digging out of 28 inches of snow in the Boston, Mass., USA now. More shoveling to be done tomorrow. Again - love all the pictures and posts.

Welcome to the Rooftop, Romagirl1!
Best of luck for coping with the huge quantity of snow! Be careful not to overexert yourself! Make a break now and then to warm up and have a look at the RT if you are not cut off from electricity! ;D

Welcome to the Rooftop! Glad you decided to stop lurking and join the fun. This is an exceptionally nice bunch of ladies, and yes, everyone who's met the man has confirmed that Rufus is an incredibly lovely person. I'm a terribly curious person, so I'd love to know what role it was that really got you hooked on the man and what are your favourites among his work. I was done for after I'd seen "Pillars of the Earth" followed by "Taming of the Shrew" and the 9/11 poem on youtube, and I think he's done a great job with just about everything he was in, but the one film that's got a very special place in my heart is "In a Savage Land" ... Hope you'll get rid of your snow very soon. Walt's suggestion of taking frequent warm-up breaks on the Rooftop is excellent

Romagirl -
Welcome to the Rooftop. I'm glad you decided to "un-lurk" and join in the fun. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here. The only problem is this place can be hard on the pocketbook! If you haven't got them already, you'll soon find yourself wanting to own all of Rufus' works.
Like Kate, I'm curious as to what your favorite Rufus roles are and how you discovered him. For me, like many US Rooftoppers, it was the series Eleventh Hour.
Take care with all that snow - hope it doesn't make your life to miserable.

Welcome Romagirl1,you will love it here. I really discovered Rufus in Zen and that holds a special place in my heart. Also love Pillars of the Earth and have caught up with most of his previous work. In my opinion the work that Rufus has done since Zen, particularly in the last year, and now with the play running has taken his popularity to another level. He certainly deserves it he is a fantastic actor and a really lovely person. Enjoy.

Hi, Romagirl - welcome to the Rooftop! So glad you decided to de-lurked and have joined in the fun! I'm also looking forward to hearing how you got hooked on Rufus and what your favourite roles are, what you've seen, etc. My favourite role is Charles II, but TOTs and Zen are way up there, too. Please do ask here, or in a PM, if you have any queries, and thanks again for joining us! GE2 PS - forgot to say, hope you're coping with the snow okay. That really was a monster of a storm!

Hello and Welcome to the Rooftop. Like Rachel, I discovered Rufus in Eleventh Hour and have been here since the show ended. I also "lurked" for about 6 months. Stay warm and safe in all that snow.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I see the city plow left me a nice gift of about two feet of hard snow in back of my car. I'll take plenty of breaks by coming here or maybe putting in my well worn Zen DVD. I first noticed Rufus in Middlemarch but then lost track of him for a while. I absolutely love (yes present tense) Zen but also Taming of the Shrew and although I wasn't that fond of the series, I thought he was the shining star in TPOE. Truthfully, Rufus could read me the telephone book and I would be a happy camper!

Hi Romagirl! Welcome to the Rooftop! I'm glad you "de-lurked!" I've met many of those lovely Rooftoppers you saw in the Old Times photos. They are just as lovely in person! P.S. I was born in Massachusetts, although I've lived in Texas most of my life.
