It seems like Rufus is so far away in Hungary. Like another planet or something. I guess it's because there hasn't been any news or interviews or anything. I wish he'd film a movie in my city, so I might have a chance to meet him. Keep your eyes peeled for Rufus, Adina!

Yeah, it's been terribly quiet on the Hercules front. While some projects tempt fans with set photos or little titbits to keep them happy (and keep the hype going) the Hercules production has imposed a rule of total media silence.  I think I've seen a grand total of three set photos that were posted by the guy playing Herc., but that's it. Even the Hungarian news search doesn't bring up a single thing. Maybe they don't have paparazzi, bloggers or even photo-taking inhabitants in Hungary? Slow news time: as interesting as the royal baby watch...  |

Ah, Ginny! You wish for some paparazzi to wait in front of the hotel and follow Rufus?? I hope you are kidding!!! There isn't a complete silence - Dwayne Johnson and Brett Ratner and Aksel Hennie and Reece Ritchie tweet rather regularly. They are nice and enthusiastic. The title of the movie says "The Thracian Wars", and Budapest is the capital of the country (you know, trams and big buildings), so it doesn't look exactly like a typical place in Thrace. So the film set is their private business, and no, the Hungarian birds don't take photos.  (Well, a film blog posted two pictures taken by a deer , but they are rather boring. static.filmbuzi.hu/wp-content/uploads//2013/06/hercules-forog1.jpg - static.filmbuzi.hu/wp-content/uploads//2013/06/hercules-forog2.jpg ) There are also some lines here and there from some extras, but the evil casting has collected bodybuilders with big muscles and not chatty Rufus fangirls. "We will shoot a battle next week, Dwayne Johnson will knock out two stunts next to me while Rufus Sewell will run on the other side to slaughter our warriors." (Well, the next week he posted that he got killed successfully, and he was very proud because Brett Ratner himself threw the fake blood at his face.) And another guy said that his day was fantastic on the set and Rufus became his favourite from all the actors there, because he "played the buffoon" between takes. You can find good tweets about the filming to enjoy, for example - Hennie: "Tired and happy after a loooong night shoot..." and "Day 20 - HERCULES. Doing our own stunts are we? On set. HERCULES. A film's first 15min is crucial. Sets the story's tone. Tonight, we set tone.. #TheyWillBleed" -- They will bleeeeeeeeeed!! The boys are working hard. How long would it take you train one to fly around the set with a live-stream camera strapped to its belly?  Awww.... Everyone always reports how well they get along with Rufus on set. And it's usually him who's singled out for friendliness. Oh, well, it was always going to be gory, I suppose....

OK, after three versions that were on rereading way too easy to misunderstand, here is the long version: No, I do not want any paparazzi to hound down Rufus. I was thinking along the lines of a set of set photos or something: I don't know. Something. But from the photos it looks like they are filming somewhere far out of the city. Thanks for the photos and the info, I must be looking in the wrong places. I don't do twitter or facebook, so all those happy twits and tweets don't reach me unless other media copy them. Oh, well, it was always going to be gory, I suppose....  The gore I might not mind so much. I'm more worried about endless and pointless fighting scenes as an excuse to stuff in some more special effects and cgi. Oh well, we'll see next year, I suppose. |
