He looks all grown up, and I really love the shorter hair. Can that man get any better looking?

It's the same 'old Jan' outfit, I think but I reckon he did have new glasses. The looked slightly more modern than the old pair. The thing I miss though in this picture is the lovely Edward Hogg

Hi..I haven't been able to post since I saw him on the 26th. Sadly,I missed him afterwards as uncorked has described and was shopping the next day when she caught him before the matinee. He really is enthralling as the older Jan.An amazing experience to see him become this other charaacter. He is even more gorgeous than on the screen or in photos . On my way out of the theatre, a crew member said he had been taping the whole performance that night. He didn't say what for. Do you know anything about that, uke or Maxx?

Nothing specific but they do make an archival copy of every show. I have seen it done occasionally that they film with video to help actors/directors work on specific aspects of their performance but it's more usual with musicals in my experience.

Some of those copies end up in public archives. The Theatre Museum of London for example holds a collection of taped productions, including RnR. I would imagine the NY Public Library at Lincoln Center has a similar collection.

Sadly,I missed him afterwards Oh, Catdishy, I'm so sorry to hear that. Can you justify (and afford!) another trip to NYC before March, maybe? At least you got to see the play - wasn't it fab? Re the stills, I love, love, love that second photo best - but his expression in the first one is lovely, too. Thanks for posting them, Uke, and Maxx.

here you go: He nearly cried in this scene on the 19th. it was very powerful. In this scene Jan has come back from Prague after all of his tribulations and being imprisoned and he has the file the communist government has kept on Max to give back to him. Max more or less blows him off.
