Hello and Welcome to the Rooftop.
this is a friendly warm forum. ...lots of fun too! Please tell us about yourself, what are your favourite Rufus films, how long you have been suffering (maybe enjoying is a better word) from Rufusitis
My favourite of all of Rufus 's characters is Petruchio( OMG I love that Man) and Zen, of course just to start. What are yours?
Most important of all, join in and have fun.

Thank you all so much for your very warm welcome!! It's so nice to find such a friendly bunch here. Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to this thread and let you know a little about me and my Rufus addiction/obsession!
First off, I can't quite say exactly when I first noticed Rufus or even what I had first seen him in--it's as if he's always been there! I know I've seen him in a lot of various things over the years, and that the first time I ever saw him, I know I wondered, Who IS that??? 8-)Once I found out, I never forgot who he was, because, let's face it---there aren't a lot of actors--or people I know in general--named "Rufus". Oh yeah--that, and the fact that he's GORGEOUS. Those cheekbones and eyes are what got me hooked. He's riveting. He's got a look that's hard to describe, i.e. mere words don't do him justice; he's mesmerizing and unique all at the same time. Plus the fact that, no matter what he's in, whether it's a small part or a larger role, he just takes over the whole scene. The first movie that does come to mind as far as knowing the title to something is "Amazing Grace", although I'd seen in him a lot of things long before that. I was watching it, and when I saw Thomas Clarkson, it was like, "RUFUS! AAAAAH!" because I hadn't seen him in a while and wasn't expecting him in it, and I found his character to be the most memorable one in the movie. He absolutely stole it. I love characters like that---he was a bit off, edgy, etc.--all qualities that I find attractive for some reason... I've heard people mention the fact that he's got that odd, long straight hairstyle and all--including Rufus, but he was still off the charts in the looks department as far as I was concerned. He's truly one of the finest actors I've ever seen, and I would say that even if I didn't want to go all "Fifty Shades of Grey" on him.... As a few of you mentioned, yes, Tom Builder (and I really do want him under my tree for Christmas....) is probably one of my two favorite characters---I have trouble deciding between him and Lord Marke. I think it's because both of them are such good men, and they are selfless & loyal when it comes to others. Integrity in a person goes a long way. Also, the beard. There's something about a neatly trimmed beard on him that does it for me. And the bit of grey in Tom Builder's hair & beard...dear LORD. It just sends me over the edge.... I think Tom has a slight edge, but only because he can build stuff and repair things , and I love a man who's capable of fixing all the stuff in the house that doesn't work/needs to be repaired/thrown out/etc. (Hey, at least I'm practical about some things....) Okay---let's say it's Tom Builder. For those reasons. And I really love his arms too.... But Lord Marke is still smokin' hot. I can't imagine how Isolde could be so stuck on a moody, sullen boy with constantly weepy eyes like Tristan, when she had this gorgeous MAN at her side who literally wanted to give her anything and put the world at her feet.
I love Petruchio too, because---OMG. He's one of the most original, hilarious characters ever! And he even looks good in drag, so....... I found him to be absolutely charming and eccentric in a really good way.
Oh, gosh, there are just SO many Rufus characters that are great! I love Zen too, and I wish they'd have been able to continue with "The Eleventh Hour"--I thought it was a unique show and don't know why they cancelled it--especially when there are so many crummy shows that manage to stay on the air. I loved Dr. Jacob Hood.
Okay, and one other thing about Rufus for me is the fact that he's a Scorpio---case closed. Being a Pisces, I get along with Scorpios really well---it's actually probably the best sign for Pisces to be with--plus Scorpios seem to always be the ones that I gravitate towards. My first really deep love was another gorgeous Scorpio that I was drawn to from the get-go & didn't get over for quite some time. And as obsessed as I am with Rufus, I did this compatability chart on an astrological website where you can pair yourself up with anyone based on your birthchart--including celebrities--and Rufus & I scored 87% overall, with 88% in 4 separate catagories, i.e. conjugal/emotional/etc. ( No, that's not weird/obsessive/delusional at ALL..... ) Yeah, like that's ever gonna' happen..... But I can hope, right?!
Phew! That was long!!! Apologies. As you can tell, I like smileys. A lot. LOL!!! Let me know if it's too much....I can stop. Really. LOL! Anyway, I want to thank you all again so much smiley_flwrsfor being so kind and for welcoming me into your midst! I haven't had time to look at everything here, but I'm workin' on it... I'm so impressed with this place and all of you, and I'm just really grateful that it exists! I'm glad it's okay to bring up some of the old threads---I think I'd enjoy discussing some of those topics---especially past movies and such.
Hope you're all having a wonderful morning/evening/day---wherever you are! And don't forget to set your clocks back if you observe Daylight Savings Time!! Take care!
