Gorgeous pic LTM! for posting. I'm in recovery from the post Closer blues . I just loved this play. I'm not sure I'd have thought of seeing it if it weren't for Rufus at least not based on the film version, which I'm not crazy about. But thankfully I did go a time or three and I was blown away. I think it's now my favourite play of all time! I too managed a few front row viewings, you really can't beat front row at the Donmar. It's the third production I've seen there and obviously the best. The performances were outstanding and the humour right up my street . Seeing Rufus after the play on many occasions was the icing on the cake. He was of course kind, sweet, funny and charming. I have some very happy memories...... I was fairly appalling at getting an in focus pic this time, and after the first couple of attempts gave up trying fortunately others are less inept with a camera than yours truly. Here are a few such happy memories.... And one of the theatre

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences, enjoyed reading them all and for the wonderful photos. I was lucky to see the play, meet with regular Rooftoppers, meet new Rooftoppers and finally meet Rufus, twice and on both occasions he was a gentleman and generous with his time and I too have some lovely memories, until the next time!

May I ask if anyone went on the last day to see the final performances of Closer? Matinee and/or evening show? I am curious to know how the audience reacted at the end. Standing ovation?? etc. Last nights can be extremely emotional. The cast had such a fantastic rapport between them and Rufus was clearly revelling in his role as Dr. Larry. I am (secretly) hoping that Mr Nell was present on the Saturday so that we might have some more of his photos to look forward to.

I was there on the final evening performance but there was nothing out of the ordinary, I'm afraid. I've been to other final performances where a member of the cast has said a few words, or asked the director out on stage, but there was none of that. I'd been hoping Rufus was going to single me out in the crowd and come join me for dinner ;-)

We just sit there in the audience and, afterwards, someone (if not the actor himself) taps you on the shoulder on the way out and states that he would like to take you to dinner...and no, I've never imagined that before. Honest!

Sorry to disappoint. No Mr Nell, no photos. He only tends to go a couple of times. However, I did manage to eek a head shot from an earlier visit. It implies a long body I feel I got a new avatar out of it too

Now I've managed to compose myself this has to be the most gorgeous photo in this thread - sorry to the rest of you, your photos have been lovely, but this just obviously takes the grand prize for me! Those eyes; they almost look to have flecks of gold in them...and I'm gone again...
