Thanks to everyone who turned up for the RT meet at Satori yesterday. A special thanks to Ruthie2190 for arranging it all.
Ophelia mentioned that she was looking for a birthday gift for her hubby. It's his birthday today. Many happy returns Mr O!
Ophelia went on to pose the question, 'What is the worst gift that your husband has ever given you?'
Well as you can imagine this caused a lot of laughter and discussion. I shall let the others tell you what theirs are if they so wish!!
I was trying to explain to Ophelia what mine was and I promised to post a photo for her, so here it.....
It's a garden weeding tool - for getting weeds out from between patio slabs etc. Actually it has turned out to be pretty useful and it does get a fair amount of use on warmer days.
All of which leads on to a story I told about a gift that my eldest son gave to his brother a few years back.
I shall explain. All the presents were dished out to the family members. We were curious about a small triangular package that PJ had given to Steven!!! Very small and well wrapped up. NO BOW!! We all watched Steven open it as we all wanted to see what it was. It was in fact a plastic chicken!!!!
Steven just asked, 'Why' and we were all laughing as it was so bizarre, SO 'random' as Steve would say!!
Paul explained that he had gone Christmas gift shopping and was waiting in a queue to pay for the items that he had chosen. He saw some toy farm animals on display and thought to himself, 'Who on Earth would want to buy a plastic chicken?'
Then he thought, 'Hey, I would', and by the time he reached the counter to pay for his items he had one of those plastic chickens in his possession!!!!! And my husband says I am wrong to worry about him!!
That chicken lives in my kitchen now and it makes me smile every time I see it. For some strange reason Steven didn't want it!! Can't think why.
Anyway, I promised I'd post a photo of the said plastic chicken in all it's glory.
The average apple is for scale only..LOL

Funny gift stories LTM. This is the reason I strongly encourage a gift card from my hubby.
Glad you all had a wonderful time!

The better question, who wouldn't want a plastic chicken? I'm with Paul, it's cute.

Sounds like you had a great time at your meet-up, LTM! What fantastic gifts. I think I might prefer the chicken to the garden tool.

Well as they say in the good ole British press (allegedly ) "it's a good day to bury some news". So I'll take this opportunity to post the pics from the recent get together.... (love that there's someone either giving us the finger or doing a selfie outside the restaurant - classic photo bomb) and a bit of grub fit for a King or (Lord Melbourne) a Prime Minister
