I stumbled upon TMITHC over the holidays and became enthralled enough to binge watch for the first time and buy the book…much taken with the premise and conflicted roles…intrigued enough to search for a place where I can find updates on stuff that he’s working on.
Watched some of his interviews at NYCC, etc. and, yes, he is very easy on the eyes (49 never looked so good) and engaging. It’s refreshing to see someone being interviewed that has thoroughly researched their role (e.g. TMITHC, Victoria), almost joyous for the opportunity to play said role and speak intelligently in complete sentences. Who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky enough to see him live in a play sometime.
I had some dejavoodoo (thinking that you’ve seen it before and cursing for not remembering once you’ve seen it) on previous things that he has done and am now backtracking to some of the films/TV that members are giving two thumbs up.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
p.s. I love that his nickname, Roof, is also sports jargon for a kick*** defensive play…e.g. roofing

to the Rooftop, Bigred! You'll find infos about a wide range of Rufus's work here. I was hooked by Will Ladislaw in Middlemarch, and I'd also recommend "In A Savage Land" and "The Woodlanders", which are all early works of his.

Hello and welcome to the Rooftop! Glad you decided to join the fun.
I absolutely second walt's suggestions and would add the Zen miniseries, Restless, A Man of No Importance, A Knight's Tale, Pillars of the Earth, Tristan & Isolde, Illuminata and Dark City. A wide variety of works that mirrors Rufus's amazing versatility.
Oh, and for some delicious supporting roles: Parade's End and The Sea.

Hello and welcome to the Rooftop, BigRed! Enjoy all that Rufusness around here !
Great suggestions were already made by walt and kate! One of my favourites (obviously) is "The Pillars of the Earth", but every movie or series with Rufus is great! Don´t Forget Eleventh Hour! (And even Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter - he´s playing a nice Vampire )

Welcome to the Rooftop! Hope you enjoy all that is here. I will add to the great suggestions already mentioned. Eleventh Hour and Zen are my favorites (more modern and my type thing). If you like funny then you will enjoy Taming of the Shrew and Uncorked. You really cant go wrong with any of his work because his performance is always excellent. Enjoy!

Welcome to the Rooftop Big Red. Did anyone mention Charles 2 The Power and the Passion? (not the butchered The Last King version). It's a four part miniseries. My all time favourite is still The Taming of the Shrew. It's 1 of the 4 approx. 90 minutes screenplays on the Shakespeare Retold dvd. I worked through the IMDB list of movies etc. You should find a thread here to find members views on them all. Zen already got a mention. It's a miniseries, 3 x 90 minute episodes. They should keep you busy for a while. I think you already saw Victoria? If you haven't you must.....

I did find the time to watch A Man of No Importance, I'll Follow You Down and Cold Comfort Farm. I really liked CCF -- very funny -- favorite line was "I'd take her too, but she's gloomy." Needed a good laugh after this week.
