I have 2 From Uncorked: 1, You're not the bloody Dhalia Lama, you're just a nutjob on top of a plexi glass piller. 2. So, you're telling me you took it face value from a senile old man and placed an order in units of measurements* that haven't been used since the fall of the Roman Empire?
*he was refering to cubits.

When Dorothea tells Will Ladislaw to remember her and he replies:
"How can you say that? As if I weren't in danger of forgetting everything else!"

Septimus Hodge
Mrs. Chater is charming and spirited with a pleasing voice and a dainty step, she is the epitome of all the qualities that society applauds in her sex - and yet her chief renown is for a readiness that keeps her in a state of tropical humidity as would grow orchids in her drawers in January.
Closely followed by:
Mrs Chater demanded satisfaction and now you are demanding satifaction. I cannot spend my time day and night satisfying the demands of the Chater family.
I'm sure there are more but Aracadia is so full of them it's difficult to decide.

plus: the one where stephen fry said, about rufus, words to the effect of (can't remember orginal exactly) - "he's an absolute beast, he gives off pheremones like abbatoirs give off excrements, you have to tie some people down when rufus walks into a room". oh yes!

definitely that one about orchids maxx!!! genius writing. have you had a chance to read Aracadia? Would the second be any more amusing if you knew that Septimus had been caught in 'carnal embarce' with Mrs. Chater in the gazebo and he says this to Mr. Chater who is confronting him about the trist? Of all of the things I've missed over the years this one just hurts me. I'd have loved to have seen Arcadia.

I have so many favorite quotes but this is my newest (from Rock 'n' Roll) Jan (to Max) If I was English I wouldn't care if Communism in Czechoslovakia reformed itself into a pile of pig s**t. To be English would be my luck. I would be moderately enthusiastic and moderately philistine, and a good sport. I would be kind to foreigners in a moderately superior way, and also to animals except for the ones I kill, and I would live a decent life, like most English people.

Charles II: "Everyone I have ever loved has betrayed me. Only a fool ever allows himself to love." And, oh god, those tears...

I love the line in Charles II-can't remember it word for word (although I did watch all four eps again on Sunday night)-where Queen Henriette Maria wants revenge on Cromwell and Charles says something like " Mother, there's no purpose to be found in executing Cromwell, as he's already dead."

There's no point in killing Cromwell, as he is already dead.
That's a good line. I like in Uncorked after his uncle destroyed the wine, Rufus is @ the manganese mine and is trying to get the door open to have a look inside. Uncle Cullen comes up and calls for Ross and Ross (Rufus) says
"GO AWAY FROM ME PLEASE!" - the 'please; part was funny. Even when he's pissed he still has his manners.

I liked the part where Ross is trying to stop Cullen from running and says, (not an exact quote) "You'll only embarrass yourself!", then falls down himself and says "S**t" under his breath. I almost missed that the first time I saw it.
