Ok, I've downloaded the DVX (whatever it's called) and it brings up the little "Play" "Stop" "FF" "RW" box.........but when I hit play it tells me "Could not load the video" Please tell this computer moron what I'm doing wrong!

Try it again Michelle,
When I hit the little arrow it played a short piece, buffered for a long while, played a bit more, started buffering again. Usually these clips don't take this long, but it's a really good one & worth the wait.

Do you have to restart the computer or anything after you've downloaded the new software?

Do you usually have trouble with video? Are you on dialup? If you're on dialup most of this stuff is going to be an issue because it's largish.

I'll try to do a flash version of this over the weekend. It won't be as nice but I think most people have flash. Or would you all rather have QuickTime?

Maxx, I'm another not-so-tech-savvy person and I haven't downloaded that DVX program either because I always have trouble with anything like that. So, I haven't been able to see any of your videos and I really want to see them. If I download this program is it difficult to work with? (Remember, I'm not tech-savvy!) I have a program now that has taken over on my computer and won't let Real Player work, so I don't want to have to deal with anything like that -- don't even know how to.

So, I haven't been able to see any of your videos and I really want to see them. If I download this program is it difficult to work with? (Remember, I'm not tech-savvy!) I have a program now that has taken over on my computer and won't let Real Player work, so I don't want to have to deal with anything like that -- don't even know how to. the DVIX player installs itself. I haven't had any issues with it on any machine that I've tested it on, but it's impossible to say since others have. And it's difficult to determine what their issue might be if you aren't looking at their machine--for example, Jemima was it, is using a public computer which will not let you install and etherealtb has a similar problem at work. I never did manage to work out Stilts problem with the Mac. I tested the install on more than one and had no issues but stilts did. I don't use Real Player because I don't like how it takes everything over unless you carefully configure it. I won't install any software that goes out to the web without asking and downloads things. But I have tested the DIVX download on machines that have real player installed and it does not seem to affect it. I don't know if that helps but uninstalling it should be no trouble if you don't like it. As far as working with it, it works just like any of the other players but it plays within your webbrowser. If don't see controls and click on the blue X they appear. You start it and watch. It has a great feature that dims the rest of the desktop while you're watching so it's like watching a little movie. If you right click you can configure preferences. I typically user Firefox as a browser but I've tested it with Safari, Firefox, Opera and IE and it works great. The caveat, as always is that it's streaming. Which means if you don't have broadband you're going to get buffering space and jerky playback--no problem, just watch it again once it's downloaded-- and it's going to take a while to do so. Some of the Divx vids are huge like the extras from TOTS. Obviously it's going to take a bit of time to download 45 meg on a slow connection but that won't change no matter what player you are using. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Maxx! I've installed it and it works like a charm. The videos are great, especially the making of AG!

I have added another clip from this. I have also added a few pictures generously shared by GE2.
I have a question for you all... should the most recent stuff be at the top of the page in television/cinema and theatre instead of at the bottom the way it is now or don't you care because when you go to look you are looking for something specific, anyway?
And does anyone have an accurate list of Rufus Audiobooks and the years they were recorded so I can add a page for them?
Thanks!
