Oh dear, where has time gone? Hope you ladies are all well!
LTM, I'm very happy to hear Leah is a proud big sister now. Charlotte Olivia is a very beautiful name.
No great news from me so far. Things are rather quiet these days both in my private life and in the office, which is not a bad thing! With a big event coming up in summer, I don't mind a bit of calm before the storm.

Kate - welcome back! And yes, calm before the storm is a good thing.
And speaking of storms - we've had exceptionally warm weather the last 2 weeks. So much so that the trees blossomed and the crocuses and daffodils began to bloom. So of course the weather report is now predicting snow for tomorrow. It's been so warm the snow will most likely melt when it hits the ground, but it will be enough to kill of the flowers. Ah well, maybe it will get and stay cold enough so they will bloom again at the proper time.
Another chapter in my work-life drama. As you may recall, last March my boss reorganized and demoted me. I negotiated a deal that I would keep my job until the new "me" started and that was supposed to be sometime last summer. Well the search failed. Mostly due to the fact that I'm still here. Not to be immodest, but I'm fairly well-known and liked in my field and people thought it was weird that my boss was doing what he's doing. Seems I wasn't as easy to replace as he thought (ha ha). So he's come up with a new plan - he has eliminated my position entirely. Basically he took my job and split most of the duties between two different jobs. I'm not being eliminated, I was given a choice to take one of the two new positions. Still a demotion but at least I won't have to train someone to do my job. The only catch in the entire thing, and one I don't think my boss realized yet, is that in his new structure there's no one to do a lot of the things I did, things that cross departmental lines. And they're not the kind of things he likes to do so it will be interesting to see how he handles things as they come up.

Good to see you Kate! Glad you got some quiet!
LTM, I love Federer too, hope his break will not finish his career! And love again to Charlotte Olivia and her family!
Sorry Rachel about ongoing problems in your job! Can´t understand that someone as good and experienced as you should be replaced or at least take a new position.
We also got snowdrops and primroses, but I also saw crocuses. Hope there won´t be any snow or cold to kill the poor flowers! I´m glad the weather here is mostly around 10C atm, and the sun peeps out more often than in January.

The snow did come and the weather people over-reacted. The original forecast was for "up to an inch" with the snow scheduled to start mid-afternoon on Thursday. It didn't actually begin until almost 5:30 p.m. and it pretty much stopped by 9:00 p.m. I was watching the local television station and at each commercial there was an update from the Storm Tracking Team. Even though it wasn't snowing anymore. All in all we got a dusting, but it continued to be below freezing yesterday and today so all of the budding flowers have died.

We are back. Had a great time!
Rachel, hopefully your boss will realize your worth when things don't get done. May come back to bite him soon.

Welcome back Kygal, hope your time at the beach was relaxing. I'm so looking forward to my girls beach week in April! As for my boss - he's all about glitz and the latest sparkly thing. He won't notice notice until it's to late when things are not getting done. BUT - won't be my problem. As they say, not my circus not my monkeys anymore.

Thanks!
Agree...not your problem any more. You can just sit back and watch the circus.
I am back to work today.

Kygal, hope being back at work isn't to much a shock to your system. The first couple days back after vacation are always hard.
It has been so foggy lately, a combination of warmish days, cold nights and lots of rain. Hate driving in and can't imagine living in an area where fog is common.

Had a nice, lazy day today. Did all me errands, shopping, etc. yesterday so today was excellent. Especially since when I first woke up I thought it was Monday and then realized, no it is Sunday so I was able to roll over and go back to sleep.
Short week this week, going to take a long weekend and go visit family.
