What fascinating pictures, Minx. The first one is absolutely beautiful! And the water is so blue! What is that structure in the picture just above the bird?
Thank you for sharing your pictures.

The water in the Band-i-Amir lakes is unnaturally blue, apparently due to their depth and purity (they are fed by an underground source).
I have no idea what that little turret is. It probably was part of some ancient fortification. I just liked the markings on it.

These are wonderful photographs. I had no idea there were areas of such beauty in Afghanistan. The light is so bright & yet the colors aren't at all bleached out. (Of course that may be mainly due to the Photograher)

Oh, nothing at all to do with the photographer - who can barely point and shoot. Much to do with the gorgeous scenery and a very forgiving idiotproof camera.
Afghanistan is so beautiful and diverse. It is a shame that it is war torn because there is a very ripe tourist industry just waiting to happen.

Amazing pics, Minx, I have said it before and I will say it again - photo journalism should be the next stop on your curriculum vitae or are you planning on writing a book of your experiences?

I love that you've tried on so many hats in your life Minx. Photojournalism fascinates me, as does your courage. Thanks for the photos and your reports. As for the dangers, use your wolfsense... the more you use it, the sharper it gets....
Wishing you every insulation and protection so you can continue in your champion campaign. Frances
