I have started to think about blogging - as if I dont have enough to spend my spare time on. Some of the people on other boards that I frequent - stitchers and family historians especially are ardent bloggers and if you dont put up pics of your WIPS and UFOs not to mention your HDs (Works in Progress, UnFinished Objects and Happy Dances aka finishes) then you just ain't participating!
So, does anyone here blog? What do you use if you do blog?
I am not totally sure that I would want the world to know what I am doing and not really sure that I have the commitment to continuing it but just out of interest IF I had something interesting to say (ok, so dont hold your breath on that one) and IF I didnt mind sharing it - what would you suggest I use?
Alternatively kick me in the b*m and tell me to get off the bl**dy computer and start doing the housework or finish some of my UFOs!

I don't blog. In fact I don't really read them except things related to Rufus. So many of them are people prattling about things that they know very little about or what they actually had for breakfast vs what they might have had, or their opinion about a myriad of inexplicable things that just scream vanity project. But, it sounds like you have some interesting content that a circle of people are clamoring for, so why not? They are pretty easy to do. There are all sorts of online edit tools that come with them--design the page(you don't even really have to do that since many come with pre-built templates to choose from), write what you like, upload the photos and it's done. I can't help with the committment and I'd be sorry to see anything take you away from here, but it sounds as if you have a product and a market.... so what's stopping you?

OK I think I may have returned to rationality today! I have had a look at Blogger, Blogspot, Wordpress and chased a few others that stitchers use and quite frankly I am not really sure that I can be bothered after all that. I think I was just having a "technology is wonderful" type day (now that I have learned a few more things about my new macbook I think I have slaked the technology thirst for a few more weeks!)
Maxx, my view of bloggers is much the same as yours really - who gives a t*ss that a whole load of people get on their little hobby horses and pontiificate sometimes with accuracy and sometimes just plain old off the planet. Also, a lot of stuff that gets put on personal blogs is downright embarassing sometimes and I am willing to bet that they would rather it hadnt actually gone where it gets to on the internet.
If I had a real project I might think about it- one of my friends does have a defined project which is fun to follow - she has acquired an overgrown unused allotment plot which she plans to turn into a fully functioning vegie growing garden and it is fun to watch her progress! Now that is fun!
OK back to the stitching, the socks and the Rufus dvds! Oh yes, and if I can get my wireless set up repaired, I could think about trying to do a Rufus calendar for this year - what do you reckon?

Living in LA I love anything growing so I'd love to see the garden patch evolve. Sometimes I think I'm a born again Brit... Oh quoll would you do a calendar? That would be fabulous. Everyone loved the one from last year so much I've been lamenting that we don't have one this year.
