Well I've been pondering a new contest and I think I've come up with one. Unfortunately it means I'm also going to to have to figure out the answer, so we'll have a longer timeline on this one. The contest is this: Tell me every film in which Rufus' character winks. He does it frequently. You'll even find more than one screen cap on the website of him winking. The prize for this one will be a copy of Citizen Locke. Since we'll all have to watch quite a few films (I know how much everyone hates to watch Rufus) I'll give at least two weeks on this one. If people are struggling and we have no clear winner at the end of that time, I'll extend it. Okay, one more addendum, if you are missing a film from your collection, say so when you send me your list. We may have a handful of people who have nearly everything, but most people do not. Also I don't think Rufus did nearly the winking in his early career that he has done since. Good luck everyone. Have fun.

Great contest! I love those winks! What an excuse to have to sit through them all again!

I'm about halfway through my viewing and it's running roughly 50/50 right now. How is everyone else doing?

I'm almost halfway through also and it's running about 80/20 for me.
Currently watching Hamlet while I write this.

leaning toward which?
I can't imagine any winkage in Hamlet. It's probably the most dour role I've seen Rufus play. However, I haven't tested it yet.

Can we cheat? In other words, Maxx, what are all the answers? (You can PM them to me. LOL.)

I'm always up for another viewing of Hamlet, this is probably the 6-7th time I've watched it. Branagh is simply magnificent in it! I requested it at the library when I asked for Carrington and CCF. Currently on Zorro and I am seriously having a real dislike for CZ - she is worse in this than I remembered. 80/20 no wink/wink

I hope we're not watching them in the same order. ;D

Gosh this is hard work! I keep on getting distracted by the raised eyebrows which are similarly appealing! (and more frequent).

I noticed that sometimes when he blinks the way his eyes close it almost looks like a wink, and then I have to go back and take another look to be sure. What sacrifices we have to make in the name of Rufus research! ;D

I keep getting distracted by everything so you're one up on me. I have to have someone watch with me so I don't miss them or I have to go back and watch again. Which of course is a dreadful hardship...

My son has been teasing me about the wink watching! I stitch through the bits I think are least wink likely and he wanders through the room and tells me that I missed a wink so I have to rewind and check it out. My family are now utterly convinced that I am certifiably nuts!
I do hope you are going to publish the wink list when the comp is over!

I don't even work outside the home..........where do you guys find the time to watch all these films? ? There's no way I'm going to get this one........I don't know when I'd get to watch every Rufus film I have! I'll just have to wait for the end of the contest and the answers to be posted!

I know what you mean Mcr. I don't see how I'll possibly get through all the films unless my husband goes out of town for a week again!! I can guarantee he'll try to have me committed if I admit to what we're up to now!! ;D

Don't worry. We'll have another contest after this one. I figured most people would remember quite a few of these. For my list of winks I think half of them were winks that I remembered and didn't even need to watch. I just asked if he winked, not when and how. I know in at least 2 of them he does it within the first 20 minutes, if not less. And I think if you know a bit about the characters you'll realize some of them you don't even have to watch--for example Helen of Troy. The character would never wink. At any rate, the contest continues and as I said, we will continue having them until everyone gets the DVDs they want or we run out of things to have contests about.
