I can't decide on Apocolypto.........I've never missed a Mel Gibson film, whether he acted in it or directed or whatever........but this one is supposed to be SOOO violent and gory. Knowing me, I'll go and just close my eyes alot!

I look forward to APOCALYPTO, it looks fascinating. Like a high thrill visit to a museum of natural history if you can imagine such a thing.

Is the jury in on Casino Royale yet?? .. I'm very tempted and I usually avoid Bond, but there's something about Daniel Craig that makes it delectably tempting!

for what it's worth, I liked Casino Royale immensely and so did every one I know. You'll like Daniel Craig, Kreach. As someone pointed out he has a similar quality to Kevin McKidd.

I want to see "300" about the 300 spartans that held off thousands of Persians in a gorge where the bodies they say were 30' high. The trailor was one that made you think "if only the movie is half as good." Also I have heard that there is a new movie coming up called "Eragon" which some are saying is supposed to be "Lord of the Rings" on steroids. We shall see. I finally got to see 300 at the theatre and was I ever impressed. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a movie so much! I think I'll go again next week - it was the most enjoyment I've gotten for a measly $6. in a long time, probably since LOTR. EDIT: I forgot to thank Britfan for bringing this to my attention because I hadn't heard about it until I read the above post.

I saw 300 yesterday. A lot of beautiful men running around poking each other with spears... what could possibly be wrong with that?
Actually I'm a fan of Frank Miller and I thought the cinematography was really interesting. I can't say there was much said about what precipitated the battle of Themopylae, either politically or territorially. The Spartans were a disaster from a character stand point. They would have never grown up to be who they were portrayed as if they'd been raised the way it was suggested, but it's was a diverting 117 minutes. There are parts of the battle that are romantically filmed and choreographed like dance.
But then I like these things. My favorite part of LOTR was the battle of Helms Deep so 100 minutes of slow motion head chopping and spear poking seems like a good time to me.
It's a simple picture, with a simple plot. There is a quite a bit of it that is completely over-the-top and some really cheesy dialog but that's what makes it fun.
And it has Gerard Butler and David Wenham...

I saw 300 yesterday. A lot of beautiful men running around poking each other with spears... what could possibly be wrong with that? You forgot the most important part, that the men are scantilly clad! That was one thing that surprised by in the movie, how visually poetic it was. I think my favorite visual in the movie was the bit with the Oracle. Just a gorgeous and wonderfully cinematic moment. I was surprised to find out that most of the cheesy dialogue was lifted directly from Herodotus by Frank Miller. But as my history prof used to say, since Herodotus wasn't there, we have no one of knowing if the real people said what he said they said. Ah, Gerard and David! David's one of my favorite actors, but you can probably tell by my avatar that I have a huge schoolgirl crush on Gerard. ;D Such a cute video and it definitely show the appeal of the movie for women! Okay, and please don't hurt me, and I will never admit this in public, but the film I want to see is "Blades of Glory". Yes, I'm ashamed, but I can't help it. I used to be an ice skater and it just looks FUNNY, even though I know no Will Ferrell movie ever is able to sustain itself for more than 30 minutes, but I know I'll enjoy a *few* giggles at least.
