Damn, we just got a memo today that say we can't do ANY livestreaming/downloading of video at work, which is the only place I can see it. Something about it slowing down the server and people not being able to get their work done. I mean, how dare they anyways, eh? I can't even sneak one or two on occasion anymore as Big Brother is watching: "Streaming and downloading audio/video for personal use has a significant impact on the network. One person listening to the radio for 15 minutes is like sending 30,000 emails. Imagine the impact of even a few people listening to the radio online for even a short time. Once detected, IT can identify the offending computer and connection. Efforts will be made to contact the owner of the device to request that the activity stop."Yup. Totally busted.  |
