Hey everybody. My name's Lisa and I'm new to this message board thing so please be gentle. I guess I'm a bit of a new fan of Rufus Sewell too. My first Sewell movie was Triston and Isolde and I loved it. More importantly, I loved him in it. I went out and rented anything I could find him in. (thanks goes to imdb) I just watched Dark City last night and I have to say it was a very interresting movie. Hmm, I'm not sure if I could pick a favourite tho. T&I for the sentimental reason- it being the movie that brought me to all the other Rufus films. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and that I'm happy to find a site like this.

HI Lisa..glad you're here...its a lot of fun and lots of stuff about our fave, Rufus. Amazing Grace is the one that got me, but now Taming of the Shrew is my first choice, I'd say.

I just bought the Dangerous Beauty dvd last week. I couldn't find it to rent it. I'm so glad I got it cuz I had seen it years ago and forgot about it but I love that movie. I just rented Amazing Grace a few weeks ago or so, wonderful movie. I've not seen Taming of the Shrew except a little video on you tube. It looks hysterical. What is it about Taming of the Shrew that would make it your first choice catdishy?

I can't answer for Catdishy, but I can tell you why I love TOTS. Rufus just seemed to have so much fun making that movie, that it made it more enjoyable for the viewers too. And of course there is the fact that I never imagined I'd be soo attracted to a man in fishnets & heels! It's just great fun!

Welcome, Leelee! Good to have you on the board.
ToTS is my favourite too - apart from the fact that no man should look so gorgeous and masculine in drag, it is lovely to see Rufus in quick witted comedy as a change from his usual brooding villainous type roles. Well worth getting if only as a light fluffy pick me up when the woes of the world get too much!!!!

Hello from the UK, Lisa!
Do add Charles II (otherwise known as The Last King) to your list of must-sees. This was the one that hooked me. Apart from some very sexy scenes, he looks gorgeous throughout, and if you have an all-region DVD player and can nab yourself the Region 2 version, there are four wonderful hours of it - almost every scene with Rufus in (yayy!).
If you like cute, fluffy Rufus, then Uncorked (otherwise known as At Sachem Farm or Higher Love) is another must - another comedy role for Rufe.
Glad to have you with us!

Leelee, GE2 is correct, Charles II is not to be missed! I also wanted to make sure that you know about our sister site dedicated to Rufus work. It's at www.roofsewell.com and is simply incredible

Hi Lisa:
RuGirl, here, and welcome to the group. I would have to say "A Knight's Tale" is one of my favorites, not just because of Roof's performance, but the cast as a whole, especially Paul Bettany, another favorite of mine.....
The Woodlanders is one of my favorites, although it's a depressing movie at the end, but Ruf's performance is so wonderfully nuanced, it makes the sadness worthwhile.
And Cold Comfort Farm, just for the hunky shots of Ru with no shirt!!
Enjoy!

ahh, a shirtless Rufus . I'll have to look out for a bunch of his movies I haven't seen yet. I have seen quite a few, but I have alot of catching up to do. Uncorked is one I can't find but now that I see the other possible titles, maybe I'll have better luck with it. Mmm, and Charles II has some sexy Rufus scenes? I think I'll have to go order that one. lol Oh, thanks for the heads up on the Rufus site. I think I have it on my faves. I'll be visiting it in just a few moments...

FYI... if you have an all-region DVD player, get the UK version of Charles II, it has about an extra hour of footage, and I'm told is much better than the scrubbed American version.............

Thanks for letting me know about the extra hour, rugirl! I'll definately look into it. I'm not sure if the dvd player I have now is all region or not. Not that it matters, I can always pick up a player just for Charles II. can and will:)

Ha Ha Ha. I bought an all region player for Charles II too, well, and for Shrew which wasn't released in America until recently. In my opinion that extra hour of Ruf was worth the price! I bought mine from a marketvendor through Amazon.US
