A very warm hello to all of you from Brown Eyed Girl living in Boston! I am very glad to be part of your group! I have been a very big fan of Rufus' s talent and charisma (not to mention his good looks!) since 2001. However, I always felt kind of isolated in my admiration for him. Most people to whom I mention his name usually do not not even kow who he is!... (that's why it is so great to find your nice group!) ... Well, except for my dear husband, of course, who had to watch all the movies with Rufus which I was able to get in the USA. The first movie I watched was actually "Dangerous Beauty"(The Honest Courtisan). This was quite accidental. At that time I was on vacation in my home country, Poland and that movie was on TV very late one night. I was mesmerized, of course, and from that moment I was trying to find as many movies I could. Unfortunately, this is not always easy as many Rufus's movies were released only in UK. I love many of them, but I think that my favorites are "The Woodlanders" and "The Taming of the Shrew". I have watched both many, many times... I also loved him as Lord Marke in "Tristan and Isolde". The only problem I had: I found it very hard to believe that anyone would prefer James Franco's Tristan to Rufus Sewell's Lord Marke. Ha, the same goes for "The Woodlanders", come to think of it!... Well, this is all for now. Enjoy your Sunday! BEGirl

G'day BEgirl! Great to have you here. We are always happy to talk Rufus to anyone who will listen! Lord Marke is one of my favourites too - ditto about JF, what a wuss in comparison.

hi browneyedgirl!!, there's nothing to add to your previous post actually-Rufus is undoubtedly georgeous and i also agree that Tristan wasn't a good candidate for a lover (too childish , as for me and no attractive voice at all:), well, i haven't seen "The woodlanders" YET(it's so damn difficult to get Rufus' films in Poland:( but i will bear in mind your remarks once i watch it one thing suprised me-your husband watched all the rufus' films with you? ! mine usually says-"oh, i see you bought/found another film with your drunkard-voiced actor??" and leaves me alone to enjoy the Rufus work the only film he liked was DARK CITY as my husband loves that type of films girls- how your husbands/boyfriends react when they see you watching Sewell's films over &over again??

Mine reacts with weary resignation and my 9 year old son says "Is that Charles II again?"

haha-Ruthy-that means your son can at least distinguish what Rufus film you're watching well, my husband can't :-)

LOL ! Well my husband just gives me the you're so pathetic look, and sometimes says, " you've always refused to watch re-runs in the past" and I say "It's a Rufus thing, you just wouldn't understand"

Mine just rolls his eyes and says "is that your lover boy again?", to which I always reply, "from your mouth to God's ears!" Or Rufus's ears, whatever.............

I've got an eye-roller, too, but when I asked him to put a Rufus flick in the queue for once a month ( I know, how could I go so long between?) he agreed. Even called me in when the R 'N R piece aired on PBS. I do curb my enthusiasm when Ruf is on the screen, though. It would be much more fun to watch his movies with a girlfriend!

Hi Girls!
I have not been able to log on for a long time... Too much work and too many close deadlines (I work as a freelance translator).... I can see we have a nice discussion going on here...
So, I did watch every Rufus film I could get my hands on with my dear husband. I think I have mentioned to him once that I like this actor... etc. and from now on, if he saw that Rufus was in a movie we were watching, he was always making fun of me... But in a nice way... He actually quite often jokes about "Roofie" (that's his nickname for Rufus, which always make me angry... ) but he did admit more than once that Mr. Sewell is a very good actor... As for watching Rufus movies more than once, I do it only when I am on my own (kids at school, husband at the office). I do not want him to make fun of me, I guess... and also, who needs distraction!...
More to come...
Happy Holidays, all of you!
Brown Eyed Girl (I do love this Van Morrison song, and my eyes are brown too)

Uh-oh, sounds like I was pushing it a bit the other night while watching A Knight's Tale, when I informed my husband that "I wouldn't mind doing some jousting with him". Doesn't hurt to keep him on his toes...
