Congrats to all on R & R. let's all collectively keep our fingers crossed and wish them all well come June 15. Surprised that Brian Cox was left off this list as well as Kevin Kline. Rufus should win and hopefully will, saw it 3x and he got better with each perf. An amazing talented man. CONGRATS!!!

Rai What's really appalling is that she lived with one of the most preeminent theatre actors in the US for years. I'll bet Frank Langella knows how to pronounce Rufus' last name...

Comment from Sinead: Sinead Cusack Best Featured Actress in a Play Nominee for Rock 'n' Roll
I'm a little stunned because there's always that sneaky little bit of you that thinks, 'wouldn't it be lovely?' But the more sensible and rational side of me said it's a strong year as far as plays are concerned. So I had prepared myself for not getting a nomination, and now I'm delighted. I think I laughed [when hearing the news]. I didn't call anyone up or do any of that. I told one of my sons but that's it. The others don't know yet, Jeremy [husband Jeremy Irons] doesn't know yet. He's on stage. I haven't heard from anyone [in the cast]. I have to text Rufie [co-star and fellow nominee Rufus Sewell] and Tom [playwright Tom Stoppard]. I don't know where Rufie is at the moment actually, I think he's in Los Angeles. I'll text him, and I hope we meet up to celebrate if he's in the country. But to me, it was a pretty lovely cake anyway and spectacular icing. But I loved the cake and loved playing the part." www.broadway.com/Gen/Buzz_Story.aspx?ci=565355&pn=2"Rufie"? Awwwwww......

Another mention of Rufus by Patrick Stewart on the site GE2 posted a link to:
"Because my name begins with an ST, it always comes at the last so you think they're going to run out of nominations before they get to you. Another S came before me, the wonderful Rufus Sewell, and that was the moment I thought, 'That's it, it's gone.'"
I have seen Stewart's Macbeth and thought his performance lacked involvement and interest. But apparently others have seen it where he gave his all. Anyway, I am keeping every toe and finger crossed for Rufus until June 15th.

I've noticed that it's Rufus whose name tends to come last, wherever he is alphabetically. Most reports of the nominations are putting his name at the end - grrrrrr! Saving the best for last, obviously, LOL!
Lovely comment from Mr Stewart, though.

See how that aggravates me? How hard is it to say his name??? Its not easy. I was a fan of his for YEARS before I finally asked somone (in desperation) how to pronounce his name properly. I hadn't a clue and was happy I could stop refering to him as "Rufus S."

I liked this comment from a blog about the "meet the nominees" bash: Rufus Sewell commands the room, while other notables are less visible.www.broadway.tv/blog/?p=88Tee-hee! Atta boy!
