Blame this one on Maxx, she did say she would like to see my most recent stitching achievement (and I count it as an achievement too because it has all sorts of fiddly stuff that I am not used to). It's a sampler for my parents' 60th anniversary and it is rather long!!! I wont be getting it framed until I get to UK. Just be grateful I am not regaling you with all the socks I have knitted since the first pair!

oh my gosh is that gorgeous. It looks old fashioned yet perferctly comtemporary. How beautiful. All of the subtle colours really highlight the stitch-witchery. Your parents are going to be thrilled.

That is just beautiful, Quoll - so much detail, and the colours are lovely. Well done, you! Your Mum and Dad will love it, I'm sure.

Flat to the boards like a lizard drinking at the moment. I got back from my month in UK and of course, no one had done my work for the month so not only did I have my work to do I had to catch up with that which had not been done while I was off galivanting!!!
This weekend we have to "volunteer" to man the cash registers at the Southern Hemisphere's biggest second hand Bookfair in aid of Lifeline (quick plug) which is a 24 hour telephone counselling service here in Aus. I just did the afternoon shift yesterday and was fast asleep by 8.30 - knackered!!!

, Quoll! You're a real master! I've never seen a thing like this. It's simply fabulous, wonderful, bloody fantastic, absolutely terrific, marvelous. It's hunky-dory!!!!! Your granddaughter will be very happy (in few years, perhaps!) for this gift. The handmade gifts are the best and priceless and precious indeed.

My goodness, Quoll, that looks complicated! I wouldn't have the patience to stitch something like that. What are you going to tackle next - a replication of the Bayeux Tapestry, maybe....? Well done you!

, , , ... that is fabulous, Quoll. I love it! Is it going into a frame or will it become "something" like a pillow or a part of a quilt or a tapestry? The little house I'm trying to buy was built in 1740 so I thought it was a perfect time for me to learn to do stained glass. If I actually produce anything worthwhile I'll share it. I've got a pattern, I've got the glass, now I just the need the time.

Thanks folks - I am planning on framing it even though you can wash it and iron it, the thought of it being spewed all over by a little girl, adorable though she is, is a bit too much for me at the moment!!! I calculated last night and almost had a heart attack 70,400 stitches and that doesnt include all the back stitch and french knots. If I had known that before I started I would never have started!!! Ohh Maxx, a 1740 house! It sounds perfect and stained glass will be awesome in it - what is time after all?

Quoll, that is absolutely beautiful. Where did you find the time? I've done needle point but very small pieces, nothing this complicated. So pretty.
I've just seen a fabulous old movie, "Swingtime" with Fred and Ginger. Apropos of nothing. Trying to decompress with work, some days I just want to collapse and sleep. My favorite hobby is photography, I've been trying to take advantage of the changing scenery and taking pics, but can never find the time..
Maxx looking forward to seeing your work of art. Any pictures of the house that your interested in? It sound wonderful, good luck with that.

I've been catching up with my pictures I've taken, finally gotten around to developing and uploading them to Flickr... www.flickr.com/people/80106023@N00/some are nice, some are just snapshots, but my life story can be told in pictures I suppose.
