I've just been listening to the news about the earthquake in the Los Angeles area this afternoon. I hope, Maxx, that you and any other members living near there are all right. It sounds like it was a pretty strong one.

Thank you. I'm fine. I'm in Lexington Ky at the moment. I understand it was barely a blip west of Los Angeles unless you happened to be in one of the big buildings with rollers then I guess it was quite a fun ride.

I'm in San Francisco, and I didn't know about it until I saw a newsalert on my crackberry, but my friends in LA had no phone service for most of the day.
Just another perk of living in the world's best climate, I guess.....

Well I haven't been home yet(to LA) but the person who went over to my place said everything seemed to be in order so apparently it wasn't too bad.
The phones weren't actually out, the circuits were tied up from all the calls. I couldn't get through either, but email was working fine. I know one of my cars is in the shop near my house and the guy working on it called me later in the day. He said is was a good shaker but no damage.
The fire season should be starting in earnest any day now.

when you haven't got any weather, you have to get your kicks somewhere.
