That is correct, I am actually related to Andrew Johnson through my dad's side of the family. Don't ask me how though... There are 154 steps from the pedestal to the head of the Statue of Liberty ( www.statueofliberty.org/Fun_Facts.html ) and then you must climb a 40 ft ladder to get into the torch ( www.nps.gov/stli/faqs.htm ) Always wanted to visit the Statue...have they finally re-opened the crown to visitors?
