This ruffgirl could care less if it has more horror than I usually go for in a flick--it's an interesting storyline in a MOVIE starring RUFUS and I was so looking forward to seeing it on the big screen...I will still keep my eyes peeled that it shows at one of the art houses here in the twin cities. If I have to I'll have a litttle talk with the Walker Art Center, after all, I got to see an early screening of Amazing Grace there--free!! Now, who do I have to butter up over there? This is a European film, it's topical, it's edgy, it's CULTURE, baby.

ohhh but people will be FRIGHTENED... and UPSET.... so pa-lease dont show it in theater, and protect my fragile psyche. show us another lame chick flick instead. grrr. (this is the sound of tipou, the frustrated movie lover)

Are you offering video segments (or at least photos) of non-bloody Rufus moments? (no spoilers there, just speculation, as it's a horror film). If so, I ACCEPT!

Rueful, we'll take care of you. Tipou can supply the video segments, and since I will watch the whole film no matter what, after viewing Vinyan I'll be happy to supply you with a scare-o-meter as a guide: barely needed my teddy had to watch from between fingers scary-excitement inducing (well, with Ruf 'exciting' is a given) felt like might cry or hurl, or both wet my pants (again, with Ruf that's...) expect nightmares, three weeks minimum fainted--direhard horror fans only

LOL, rufluvr. Thanks, that's a great scale. I can sometimes make it to this level. Or maye you brilliant film editors can get together and edit me a G-rated copy, complete with a rainbow- and puppy-filled ending.

rufluvr: brilliant scale!! i guess we could do with similar scales for different situations, if ever you feel inspired:
the boring-flick-but-stay-awake-there's-a-rufus-scene-coming scale the naked-rufus-scene-cat-call scale the he's-much-too-nasty-it-can't-be-rufus scale the rufus-is-so adorable-i-can't-stand-it scale and of course the ever popular oh-how-don't-he-hire-a-better-agent scale
i believe that those would save me a lot of space in posts.

Brilliant scales, both of you. But I feel we could refine them a little, to reflect how we feel about Rufus despite our feelings about the film/TV itself: Rufus naked = ;D Rufus naked and we see his bum = Rufus naked and wet = All of the above = I'm embarrassed at seeing Rufus unclothed and just can't look (rarely used) = Or is that taking things a bit far?

if anyone here would use the "just can't look" scale i would have serious doubts.
and about too far... we cannot really go too far. not enough smiley for that. i saw one on another website, with hellfire, now that would be often used here, but after a day or so we would all be in hell, and there would be no one left to praise rufus.

On the site that preceded this, we used to have a cold shower smiley - we could do with that here most days!

Another review of Vinyan, mostly , with several SPOILERS: www.horroryearbook.com/544583/movie-review-vinyan-2009However, I did like this: And though I mentioned in previous discussions that I think this film looks entirely too bleak for me to watch, the words "sex act" somehow caught my eye. Picture me, sitting here, doing the tapping triangle/steeple thingy with my fingers, and saying, "hmmmmmmm." I will want VERY DETAILED reviews from all of you who ordered the DVD.

I stopped reading reviews long ago after I came to the conclusion that most reviewers were frustrated actors and simply like spewing their venom. I have not read much on it and do not intend to, I have pre-ordered and anxiously awaiting my dvd.
