 Wichi! Just you wait, Jacob! I'm very late catching up on some of these, but they're great, as always! Love the Gertler and Marco series, and as always, the creativity of CJC! That bed is hilarious! I know it's a bit early, but before the holiday week gets really crazy, I'd like to present... A Christmas Carol, starring Rufus Sewell and an Amazing Cast of Characters  Aurelio, did you get my Christmas wishlist that I emailed to you?  I did, Amadeo. I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed in you. You don't seem to understand the Christmas spirit at all. You're cruel to anyone whom you have power over. You seem to have no idea that the true meaning of Christmas is found in giving, not receiving. I'd like to share a little story with you.... Scrooge did not celebrate Christmas, unless he was the one receiving the gifts.Scrooge: Christmas! Bah, humbug! Scrooge was very harsh to his kindly, hardworking clerk, Bob Cratchit. Bob was a devoted family man, and his lovely family barely made ends meet on the paltry salary that Scrooge gave him. In particular, Bob had one son who was quite sickly....Tiny Tom. Tiny Tom remained very sweet and good natured. If only Bob could afford to get him proper medical care.... One Christmas Eve, Ebeneezer Scrooge was visited by the ghost of his dead business partner, Marley.Hey, Mon. You're in big trouble. If you don't change your ways, you'll be doomed. Tonight you will be visited by three spirits who are supposed to show you how you should treat your fellow man.(to be continued) |

A Christmas Carol, continued.... As the clock struck 1 AM, a strange figure appeared. I am the Ghost of Christmas Past! I am here to show you what your life used to be like, before your heart hardened.  Here you are as a young man. Wait a minute. It's dreadful...simply dreadful. You know, I think I'm supposed to tell you that these were the good old days, but look at that hair...those clothes...those eyeglasses. Frankly, I think you're better off as you are now. No one wants to see you looking like that again. So, as you were, carry on....And with that, the clock chimed 2 AM. I am the Ghost of Christmas Present. So, where is it? Where is what? Are you a fool? My present! Where is it? I don't think that's what Ghost of Christmas Present is supposed to mean. I knew it! I knew I was being tricked! I'll bet it was the Trojans who put you up to this, wasn't it! And last year I gave them a gorgeous hand-made wooden horse...  You know, no one appreciates the gifts you give them anyway, and no one ever gives you the gift you really want. So my advice to you? Take what you want. It's the only way you'll ever be happy. And the clock struck 3 AM. Scrooge: Are you the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come? Scrooge: Hello? Do you have anything to tell me? Scrooge: Ok, then. Is it time for me to wake up yet?And with that, Scrooge crash landed in his own bedroom. He ran to the window, and saw that it was early morning. He shouted out a window to a passing boy, "What day is this?" The boy replied, "It's Christmas Day, sir!" And Scrooge rejoiced.(to be continued) |

A Christmas Carol, continued....  Scrooge awakened a changed man. First thing he did was order a very large bird to be sent to the Cratchit family for their Christmas dinner. He gave the shirt off his back to a man in need. Scrooge was so full of the Christmas spirit, that he didn't even tell the girl at the office Christmas party that she'd forgotten to comb her hair. I realized that I did not want to follow the advice of all those terrible ghosts. After all, they're dead. That's the definition of a ghost, I believe. So they couldn't have been too successful at staying alive, which to tell you the truth is my basic goal.  Besides, I found out what my true problem was--low blood sugar. Now if I get a little crabby, Bob Cratchit brings me a nice glass of orange juice, and everything is dandy! Bob Cratchit and his family were very, very happy now that Scrooge had changed his evil ways. Especially Tiny Tom, who got well and came to look on Scrooge as a second father. So, as Tiny Tom would say,God Bless Us, Every One! So what do you think Amadeo? Do you have anything to say? Yes. Yes I do. I want you to destroy that ridiculous Christmas wish list I sent you earlier. That's fantastic, Amadeo! I'm really proud of you!
Yes, well Aurelio, I rewrote the whole thing this morning, as soon as I got my new Nieman Marcus catalog. They have the most gorgeous speedboat....  A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL ROOFTOPPERS, EVERYWHERE! |
