Ladies, you are very nice, thank you for those nice words. Your children are very lucky to have families who are concerned about the topic. Comunication between families and school is so important and fortunately there are many who support school and teachers in new projects. I'm sure that together we will be able to solve the problems, and politicians, one day or another will have to face the situation.

going off at a tangent Numbat. Good to see you call me Frannie when anyone calls me Francesca I feel I am in for a telling off .That is what my mum calls me when she is about to ...and she still does!! at my age !!!. O M G and does she!!!!! .Hope to God she never finds out about Roofie-baby.Would she have plenty to say. My life would be HELL. Does any body else's mum still treat her adult (HAH) daughter as if she was naughty 14 year old? And does SHE(my mum) go on .... If it was an Olympic sport ,she would hold the record I don't know if you know about Welsh MAMS.They are usually small and gentle and kind ( mine is)but when angry change appearances and become enormous and terrifying and when they speak though quietly, sound like the loudest thunder. God , look the time , she's going to be here for lunch in a minute... I do love her really .......

Your mum sounds just like mine frannie - she's not welsh, but i still have to do what she says!!!! Although i have to say now she's getting older she expects me to do more of the decision making, but then i'm always conscious of making the wrong one in case it upsets her!!!! She's getting a bit passive aggressive i think!!! Taking my parents to Singapore with us didn't always seem like the best decision we had made to tell the truth - although once i got a few drinks into her she relaxed a bit!!!! We'll always be their little girls i think (i, of course, will never be like that with my daughter, ahem ) (And i haven't told my mum about my OTHER love either - although my husband knows!!! Now that IS a bit weird when i think about it, but he just makes fun of me!!!!)

No Numbat , we never will be like that with our girls And I wouldn't dare tell her about Roofie ....A woman of your age should know better .... you are behaving like a silly schoolgirl...etc ..etc.. but like you My (Other )Beloved knows and laughs at me . He knows that when he goes to the Rugby club on Weds I curl up with my chocolate and Roofie-baby They must be very confident !!! If it was the other way around, I would be jealous , make him give it up ,sulk and generally make his life a misery.

You bet - i was only thinking that the other day!!!! God forbid HE should start ordering DVDs of some "woman" and watch her constantly, have her as his screensaver and go on her message board - that would just be wrong!!!!! I think they understand that just as our Mum's will always treat us like we are fourteen, we will always BE teenagers when it comes to our "lad" - i want to put posters up in the bedroom but that might just be going too far, LOL The worst thing though, is when the kids start making fun of you - when my middle one goes to bed, he asks me if i want him to put on a Rufus DVD for me (you know, to save me hauling my lazy ass off the couch) "Are you going to be roofing tonight?" he asks me - now i have no idea where he got that terminology from!!!! (note to self - must stop drinking the truth serum)

I don't see what we do here wrong at all. We come from all parts of the world conversing so to speak about one topic. Where's the harm in that?
My sister says I'm obsessed (but in a good way) I tell her I can be like some people I know, the ones getting plastered most nights and generally making fools of themselves, then driving home. I think it's absolutely fantastic that we have members from Australia, the Pacific Northwest, NYC (yay!!), Denmark, Italy and most of all England, and of course Wales. If I''ve left anyone out my sincerest appologies. This board is cathartic in a way and from a personal standpoint it's helped me througha rough patch in my life, thanks to two very wonderful members (they know who they are), and for that I am eternally grateful. So to hell with the naysayers, keep posting your thoughts and ideas, you're always welcome and never judged (that being extremely important)

My mom passed away several years ago but she would not understand my rufus fixation if she were still alive. She was a very proper lady who devoted her entire life to me and my dad and would embarass herself at the slightest thought of a fantasy life and would be embarassed for me if she knew about mine.
Hubby and kids have no clue. That's the way I want it too. Hubby would laugh and wouldn't care less. (He's a very well-kept man, if you know what I mean...) Kids would make fun and tell everyone in the extended family.

wichi sorry about your mom, I've only told my immediate family, we're all a crazy lot, very funny all of us and we all have a perverted sense of humor. I learned from a very early age to acquire one to survive in my family. Most of my other relatives are a bit tight a$$, none of them would understand. I don't deal with them that often so I really don't care what they or anyone else thinks. Let me ammend that I did tell a girlfriend at work, she thought that it sounded like fun, no harsh or rash judgements from her. Bless her. At least you have all of us. Chin up.

Wichi , I am sorry about your mum,I wouldn't have gone on with the joky rant about my mum and it WAS a joke, if I had known. Is it worth it??? YEHHh!!! 3& 1/2 weeks of sun, good food and wine .got my brand new TPOTE and loaded my i-pod with 3rd bundle of Bond books and the Woodlanders , read by You Know Who . My mum sort of knows about Rufus, she caught me drooling over my desk top pic of Lord Marke, she said, "Who is that?" and feeling all embarassed, I said, "Oh, it's Rufus Sewell, a brilliant English actor that I really like, he's really funny". I could have died because I felt like I was 15 again, caught drooling over my teenage crushes!! She walked away and must have been thinking that I was mad. I don't care, I love Rufus and am so happy to be his fan.

My mother knows about my "thing" with Rufus...she thinks he's sexy too so that works. She also watched "Vinyan" with me when I got it. She loves weird horror story movies...lets just say we were both like "WTF" at the end....(she couldn't stand the wife..lol) She also thinks Isolde should have stayed with Marke instead of pining for whiny Tristan. So my mom is pretty cool with my various crushes...(ie: Jason Isaacs, Alan Rickman...) although she draws the line at Al Gore, Tim Curry and Garth Brooks..lol.
My rant for today? My neighbors are idiots! They have 4 kids...all under the age of ten (7, 5, 3, 1) and all of the apartments are hard wood floors with thin walls. Guess what I get to hear ALL day? You guessed it...everything! Screaming, banging, various items tossed down the stairs, thumps loud enough to make you wonder if someone was just murked, and the father screaming at the children as if they were adults rather than children. I've called the cops 3 times on these people. The first time all I heard was screaming and very loud banging, I knocked on the door to see if everything was all right...no answer, so I called the cops for possible violence in the home. Cops came, cops went "just kids that had too much sugar". Second time was when the mother came over and said that her husband punched her in the face. She had a black eye starting and cuts on her cheek. Called the cops. "can't make her press charges". Third time was just recently. I'm used to the kids screaming "no" in a petulant "i don't want to and your not gonna make me" tone. This was different. Kid was crying and screaming "no please don't!!" and the father was screaming "SHUT UP!!" Called the cops...cops came, cops went. No explanation. Husband/father is now mad at me and threatening to call the cops on me for filing false police reports. Good luck there d***head. I know at least 3 cops in the local police force..one of them being in my roller derby league. And how is it false when I have witnesses (my mother, father and another neighbor) and very real concerns? Whatever. Now the husband/father is egging his kids on. Neighbor walked past the apartment yesterday when I wasn't home and heard the father shouting at the kids "you wanna be a tattletale like Casandra?" beause they were blaming each other for crap like they always do.
The really sad part is now I am planning on leaving my awesome apartment with the beautiful views because the environment is hostile and stressing and nobody will do anything about it. Management can't force them to change for fear of being slapped with a discrimination lawsuit, cops can't do sh!t without physical evidence or charges being filed, and no amount of talking to these people has helped.
Damnit.

That sucks, DGD. Not much you can do except move if the management won't do anything. Maybe they'll get the hint if more people move out.
Good luck in your apartment search.
