PLAYBILL ON OPENING NIGHT: The Vertical Hour "Sewell said to expect him — and the play, another political cavalcade by Tom Stoppard (set in Czechoslovakia, 1968-1989) and the Evening Standard's pick for 2006's Best Play — in New York "hopefully, next year." There is, he allowed "a bit of Stoppard to do here, stuff already going on" — an allusion to The Coast of Utopia: Voyage, part one in the trilogy that just cranked up at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont. "We're going to try and see it. I'm only here a couple of days. I've just finished a play. I'm just resting and seeing things." www.playbill.com/news/article/103958.html

At the Royal Court the cheapest were L10 and the most expensive, right up front stalls were L15 :-) Bet they wont be that cheap anywhere else. I think in the Duke of Yorks they were L45.

I wonder who will play Max... hum. Brian Cox most likely. I read an interview that he wants to do it. Fine with me, I'm one of the few who prefers his Max to Calder's.

I'll love the Royal Court forever and ever and will probably put them in my will or something for selling 10 pence standing room tickets. I'm going to start my RnR NY fund now.

The price will naturally go up since both he and the players are award winners - Broadway will increase it more. I am going to check around my office to see if anyone knows anyone in New York who can get me a good seat, at all let alone for an acceptable price.
The neatest thing is that if he made the announcement, it is more likely than not that it will happen.

I know this is going to come as a wracking shock but I don't really care who plays anyone but Jan. I've seen the show several times and the only reason I'd go now is for Rufus. Okay, well curiousity to see what they change for B'way but other than that only for Rufus. As to tickets... Got to keep my ear and my american express card to the ground since they often offer first crack on B'way shows before they go on sale to the general public. I love the idea of being able to see this show again... I absolutely cannot wait.

I know this is going to come as a wracking shock but I don't really care who plays anyone but Jan. I would say 'ditto' but I do really like Pete Sullivan and would love it if he came with the play and Eddie Hogg is such a cutie and he has such a funny accent, he's become an RnR staple. But I understand if they have better things to do. However, if Rufus doesn't play Jan, pfffft, what's the point??

Believe me, if we knew the scoop on it, it would be all we were talking about... at least for a while. Hang in there. It shouldn't be too much longer before they firm up the casting.
