It's the one thing I'm desperate to find out - I'm on high alert and do a google search almost daily. Surely the casting must be announced or rather casting notices must go up any day now...
Actors Equity has a casting call website where you can see what's being cast right now. No sign yet of RnR.

Rufus wants to do it. He's been fairly verbal about that. Unless the dates slip, I would say it's fairly certain.
Of course I know that doesn't help you much uke.

I'm making plans to sell off everything I might own in order to fund my trip to see Ruf in R&R. Although sometimes I think I might be over estimating how much I can raise b/c I've watched too many episodes of "antiques roadshow". LOL

I'm willing to put my two teen daughters up on Ebay.........they might bring in something! My husband might be next! Maybe one of the dogs.........but the other two, no way!!! I'll have to go through the attic and both girls' rooms.......I'm sure I can find more stuff!

Do any of them cook and/or clean? Actually yes! My husband does 90% of the cooking in our house, and our youngest helps him alot. They all 3 have their own collection of cookbooks! And both girls are in charge of the weekend version of cleaning the house.......dusting, vacuuming, clean their rooms and bathrooms. I don't want them out on their own and know NOTHING about how to take care of their own home! They also both do their own laundry......although they don't do ironing, I do all that!

Okay, I'll take one of them, preferably one that's old enough to drive. Do you have one? If she can drive I'll pay more.
(I'll pass on the husband. They are so messy. They leave up toilet seats and there are always little bits of hair in the sink where they've shaved and damp towels all over and empty beverage cartons in the fridge and toilet paper rolls that must be changed...)

Yep, the 17 year old drives! And she's very organized and in Honor Society..........she can come in handy for you!!! You got it right on the husband.......although he always changes the toilet paper roll! And he hangs his towel up (but that did take a lot of training on my part!).

*Heavy sigh*... I would love to go to R&R. but at this point it will be October before I know I'll even be able to manage it. Would that be cutting things too close to join in the plans?

I don't think so Pen. ETB isn't going until after the first of the year and neither am I. I'm sure there will be people going (or going back) in January or February or March...

Pen, as Maxx said, I won't be going until the first week in January, as I need AT LEAST that long to save up the money to go. Also, hotel prices seem to be at their cheapest in January. (Guess no one is interested in NYC in a blizzard ..... all the better for me! LOL.)

Has it been posted how long Rufus' commitment to R & R will be? Do we know that he'll be still doing it in Jan? I hope so, the longer the run the better the chance for me to be able to save up and (hopefully) go. BTW, it has been a long time since I've been in NY. But I bet the Christmas decorations all around the city are still lovely in December, right? Ooh, those most adventurous souls could ring in New Years in Times Square.

I don't think anyone knows how long Ruf will be doing the show........and I haven't seen it announced anywhere as yet. Part of me thinks he'll stay as long as the show runs, but part of me thinks he'll do the first 2-3 months, then he'll want to move on to something else. Do they ever announce how long someone will be in a play? Or do they just say how long the play will run (which of course can be extended)?

actors take holidays too. perhaps the show will be dark that week. As ukelelehip has mentioned they wouldn't mount the show without the guarantee of a reasonable run because it's very expensive and in the US it's all about turning a profit. Julia Roberts doesn't even have the star power to say oh I'll do this for 6-8 weeks and move on. Unless no one goes to see it or the critics pan it, it will run for a while and Rufus will be in it. He is the show and I'm sure that's very clear to whomever is bringing it to Broadway. They found that out pretty quickly when Rufus left the show in London. I watched ticket sales fairly closely for a while at the Duke of York because I was interested and it didn't take long after he left for them to start struggling. So the thing you need to fret about and worry over is not whether Rufus will be in the show but how the show will be received and whether it will be the hit in NY that it was in London, because it could change the complexion of Rufus' career forever if it is. That's what I want for him. I want everyone in NY to be talking about him like they were in London last year. I want him to have to work out a spot to fit that Tony on his mantelpiece.
