Hey I just got a call from the manhattan club on 56th--they want to give me a good deal on a room and free tkts ...anybody know anything about that hotel  Their webpage looks nice and the location seems fine. Uke, thanks for the great photos! Rai

I know it looks as if they're trying to sell you a time share and the hotel is actually called The Tudor Hotel. The Manhattan Club is the name of the the time share group. Does that help? (I'm going to be in and out so fast on this first trip I'm considering sleeping on a bench in Central Park.  ) |

On the official Rock'n'Roll website, the link to download the pdf isn't working.OR am I mistaken thinking it's the NYC website, not the London website that had the pdf download of the play.

The download is working on the US site. It's not the play, however. It's a description of the historical events surrounding the play. Is that what you're looking for? I work 'in theatre' and normally that doesn't really help me much in my pursuit of free tix etc but this morning though we were forwarded an email from someone close to RnR (not Pete's myspace! )saying that there is 'a casting crisis' going on. I don't know who the crisis pertains to but I guess we should stay tuned. Stoppard was still in London yesterday because he attended the Olivier tribute thing at the National. Trevor Nunn is currently directing Cymbeline for the Marlowe Society in Cambridge. As long as they're here on Oct 19, it's fine with me...  |

That would be quite a casting crisis if Rufus dropped out. And I don't think there is a better offer. It's not uncommon, after all. But let's face it, all of the roles have been played by other actors at one point or another so there are people who could step in at the 11th hour if needs be. It hasn't been that long ago that Rufus flew to Canada on the spur of the moment to fill a role in Downloading Nancy. |
