Me and my broken wrist

Thank you, Rueful! The orthopaedic doctor was very pleased (I'd even say impressed) with how well the casualty doc did the manipulation and set my wrist, but he doesn't want to ditch the plaster cast just yet - booo! 
However, it has been cut back a bit from the elbow and also from my fingers and particularly the thumb, so although my hand is still very restricted there is more movement than before - and more importantly, even though my hand is still at an angle, it's more comfortable resting my arm now and so my shoulder doesn't hurt as much as before. In fact, now it's only vaguely painful most of the time, with a few sharp twinges now and then - the worst time is still at night, and first thing in the morning. But it's still early days, so maybe I'm expecting too much too soon....Have to have another x-ray in a week or so back at the original hospital I went to, and we'll take it from there.
I now have a purple fibre-glass covering to the cast, very fetching!
I've been signed off work a few more weeks, too - that should give me time to re-visit Rufus movies, shouldn't it?! ;D
