Thank you, Rueful! The orthopaedic doctor was very pleased (I'd even say impressed) with how well the casualty doc did the manipulation and set my wrist, but he doesn't want to ditch the plaster cast just yet - booo! However, it has been cut back a bit from the elbow and also from my fingers and particularly the thumb, so although my hand is still very restricted there is more movement than before - and more importantly, even though my hand is still at an angle, it's more comfortable resting my arm now and so my shoulder doesn't hurt as much as before. In fact, now it's only vaguely painful most of the time, with a few sharp twinges now and then - the worst time is still at night, and first thing in the morning. But it's still early days, so maybe I'm expecting too much too soon....Have to have another x-ray in a week or so back at the original hospital I went to, and we'll take it from there. I now have a purple fibre-glass covering to the cast, very fetching! I've been signed off work a few more weeks, too - that should give me time to re-visit Rufus movies, shouldn't it?! ;D Thank you for asking, and for all who thought good thoughts for me on Thursday.

That's great about the success of the manipulation! Yay for no surgery! Hopefully the pain will continue to subside a bit every day. The plaster cast must be troublesome, but at least the purple color serves as a pretty accessory. Didn't the doctor make that a direct order? It should be part of the standard of care!

GE2 Just read this thread. . . so sorry about what happened to you, but glad that you are progressing as well as you are. Take advantage of your time home from work. Watching Rufus films over and over again is great therapy! I went through a spell last year where I relied on Rufus to make me feel better, and believe me, it really works! Get well quickly. Hugs, Terri

GE2, I've finally gotten aournd to reading about your wrist. Take care of yourself, pamper, pamper, pamper. I just want to thank you again for all of the info you find on Rufus for all of us. Doesn't he have an agent/agency that's promoting him?? I would think that his agency would want to let us know about articles, photos, uncomming projects, etc. I am thrilled that you and the other moderators do a super job. Rufus is such a talent and deserves the best !!

GE glad you are doing better, and a few more weeks off work in the cold, snowy winter is not such a bad deal (as opposed to missing fun in the sun in the summertime). Hope you get to watch all your favorite Ru movies during this time, and take care of yourself!

Thank you, Vittoria, Spice and Rugirl. No longer snowy here - just grey and damp. But watching Rufus - oh, yeah!
