Here is the CBS blurb on tonight's new episode.
When a Milwaukee helicopter pilot/traffic reporter goes blind suddenly in the middle of a broadcast and crashes his helicopter, Hood and Rachel are called in to investigate this high profile mystery.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!! LOVED THE EPISODE!!!! to tell you the truth, i will have to watch it again regarding the plot: i think there might have been giant leaps taken in the narrative here, plus i never thought that a FBI agent would be able to work heavy digging machinery while wearing a suit. also, the end felt a bit artificial to me. i guess i got used to this "writing" team.
but i loved felix !!!! the actress that played the young mom was so good! for every one of my doubts about humour in this show, there was a great tongue-in-cheek line. marley was great! the look on her face when she came to arrest finney... she looked absolutely regal and in total charge, the true boss of the team!!! TOGETHER NOW: MARLEY ! MARLEY! MARLEY!
and rufus... what can i say. i too am blinded. ohmygodohmygodohmygod - THE DOCTOR IS IN!!! talk about mercury rising. awfully good acting here, more insight about jacob and his feelings- when the young pregnant widow asked him what he would think if she were his wife... that was a great rufus moment right there, how jacob almost lost it and then found a countenance because he had to answer...
AND DID RUFUS LOOK HOT OR WHAT. there were some close-ups there... oh my soul, i wish i had a digital recorder, i would print those close-ups and frame them.
the pace was great, the interaction between the characters was great, the new team dynamic was great.
but, for the first time, the rufian mumbling really affected my understanding of the english language. i kept increasing the volume, and a second watching might be useful for me to find out all the brilliant ideas that dr. hood had this week. ok, he is a sweet man, but can he please speak up a bit? he'S got a nice voice, why does he want to keep it for himself???
ok, i think the fever got the better of me. i have to rest now. bring me a thermometer. PAGING DR. HOOD...
really, its about time my boyfriend came home.

tipou, your new avatar is so adorable. Where is it from? Chubby King Charles?
As for the episode, I loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, LOVED IT!
I second everything you said, except I thought there was less breathiness to the voice tonight. However, I was also extremely distracted by how incredibly gorgeous Rufus looked, so will have to watch it again for more particular assessment.
I think it was in quality leaps and bounds above any other episode. I thought the actor playing the environmental activist was top notch, and also agree the mother was excellent. I'm feeling really enthused about the show right now. And Roof got to do his comedy! Yay!

avatar: stole it from here, in the avatar thread. i believe, yes, this is darling chubby chuck II, isn't he sweet?
so it wasn't only me? that was real good?
i liked the part where jacob & rachel are watching the seagulls, and jacob is listing the probable effects of mercury on them "ruffled feathers, etc." .... POW! bird in the windshield. "... yes, violent behaviour..." that was so funny, in a very surprising moment.
that kind of humour i can live with, certainly. much better than the lame poodle joke. sorry, i never got over that one.

I loved this episode as well. Excellent supporting cast and Felix was great! He was like a little kid he was so enthusiastic about what was going on. There was definitely chemistry between him, Hood, and Rachel. It'll be interesting to see if that continues into the other episodes. Tip, I also loved the matter-of-fact way Hood reacted when the seagull slamed into the windshield. And yes, I found Rufus even sexier than usual in this episode, especially the sunset scene with the light hitting those gorgeous green eyes. And thank God the hair and make-up people are making his hair look more natural! It suits him alot better than the slicked back look from the earlier episodes!

I also loved this episode, very very much, but mostly for all the character stuff. It was like a different show. It felt like a lot of the science/mystery stuff was rushed through, to leave more time for character interactions. ("Oh, there's two dairy distributors, we better split up"; "well, this one's ok"; "so's this one"; "must be happening at the farm"; "good thing there's only one dairy farm IN WISCONSIN we need to look at." All in about 30 secs flat.) I'm actually quite ok with that because the character development was great, the dialogue was good and I loved Felix. I think he'll make a good addition to their team. And even Felix can't resist the opportunity to throw his arms around Rufus. But from a purely procedural plotting point of view (try saying that 3 times fast), I've liked a couple of other eps better.

::::::::::SPOILER:::::::
Watched it three times. Good episode! Some great humourous moments here! Yay! Loved the whole Rachel standing in the cow pie thing.
"Immersive garbology". LOL. Rachel does this thing with her eyebrows.
And of course, lovely tender moments with Dr Hood talking with the mother about the toughest decision she'll ever have to make, and at the end, saying the baby was strong "Like his mother".
Felix was just plain adorable and so good at his job. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take this character.

Yes, I agree.......great episode. I think that the Felix character added humor and enthusiasm. It's as if he were speaking and reacting for us, the audience. I do have one concern. With a third character, I hope this does not mean less dialogue and camera time for Rufus. That would be totally unacceptable, in my humble opinion. What do you gals think

After a long absence, I'm checking back in with the Rufian Sisterhood. It's great to see so many fans of EH here.
I really, really liked last night's episode. One of the better ones in many ways, due to the addition of Felix. He is adorable! As someone already mentioned, there's a great chemistry between the three of them. Even my husband thought it was a positive development for the show, and he's not even an EH fan.

hi, magic!!!! glad to meet you? have you brought your drooling bucket? there is an epidemy of drooling and sighing on this board, or maybe it was already happening when you were here last?
really liked that character felix too. he is like a giant teddy bear!
at some point, i thought that i would not even be disapppointed if the series were not to come back next year. (please, rufian sisters, forgive my sinful thoughts.) now, i would really be angry, it's getting too good to be abandoned.
and, spice, no, a 3rd regular lead must not mean less rufus. we simply will not have that. there are things that must remain sacred, even for jerry bruckheimer. i must have my 5 weekly adorable close-ups, or else i will throw a fit.

I am in the minority here, thought the interraction with the new character was completely false and strained, and a bit phony for me. Love Ru's scenes as usual, it's all in the eyes, especially the hospital scenes with the widdow, when she asks his advice. I fear that the dynamic he has with Rachel will be gone, and that the show will turn into the old boys network, blah. Just when Rachel was finding her groove, the looks she shot him and the sly remarks. Not happy. BTW, Tip, love the new pic.

I thought they did a good balance of Felix coming along sometimes and then just the two originals by themselves, and I'll just hope they keep it balanced in future episodes. Like Spice said, as long as they don't reduce Rufus's time, I'll be happy.
Hi, Magicallife! Welcome back. Glad you're enjoying the show.

Ah, sorry you were so disappointed, peach!
I'll have to re-watch that bit you referenced in the other thread, where you felt Marley and Roof were uncomfortable. I thought they all seemed to be having a ball throughout (but maybe that was just me having a ball). I didn't feel a threat to the Rachel/Hood dynamic, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how it develops.
Hi, magicallife! I thought Felix was adorable, too, and that there was good chemistry amongst the three of them. It had been a concern of mine that Shelton and Rufus had to carry the whole show themselves, which is so unusual, and I think the added Felix diversions gave a nice lift to the whole thing.

i think that felix only made more apparent how rachel is " the boss " and how strong she is, being totally unfazed by the new comer. and i think the strong link between rachel and jacob was only more apparent with the new guy trying to fit in. as i said in other thread... rachel is the real "boss" anyway, so much is clear to me.

Lizap, I totally agree about Roof and Marley carrying the whole show. That was a major flaw (along with the uneven writing.)Hood has so much personality that could be brought out with other regular characters to interact with. God, what was I thinking not getting my regular fix with my fellow Roof droolers? And yes, I brought my own bucket.
