So, you guys would recommend this movie for the Ruf scenery, if nothing else? Pretty much, and the other scenery (if you like snow and skiing) is not bad, either.

saw this for the first time last night, ditto most of the above comments really - fairly dull, unless you're into 'action movies', it reeked of formula-following, and the only reason i sat though it was the pleasure of watching roof simply looking like himself. oh and all that snow was very pretty, and rupert graves was mildly amusing. but it was hardly a script to give an actor much to work with now, was it? it felt like a film he could've done just to get his name out there a bit more, can't imagine he found much fulfilment in the actual part he played. sorry!

I agree, I've found more to inspire me in my cats' litter tray. Sorry Rufus, but you did look mighty fine if that's any consolation. Like a grown-up trying to officiate at a children's party. Why were Joe Absolom and Rupert Graves given such corny American accents to do so badly? Made my toes curl.

Yes, but he was so BEAUTIFUL in it! And, it wasn't the worst film of his I've seen by far!

I finally saw it last nite. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The concept was cool. Rufus was absolutely beautiful and very HUNKY!!! I love when he's all wet and geared up for the extreme sporting events. The accent however was a bit confusing. Sometimes American, sometimes British. But I didn't care.
While watching it, I thought, he could so make a HOT James Bond. Not that I really want him to get involved with that trifling movie corporation. But yea, he would make a good Thomas Crown too.
Big sigh....mmmm Rufus!!! Back to work now. Enough with my coffee..

You've inspired me to make time to watch this today. It's been a while, but I agree. Rufus looks absolutely fabulous in this one. Forget about everything and just enjoy the view. (Actually I rather liked Rupert Graves as well, but he tends to do the same role over and over. There isn't much difference between this and Buckingham other than the accent.)

I did not have high expectations when I purchased this, so there was no being dissapointed--I think there are very few films of this genre that are really good anyway. I thought it wasn't bad. I did think the set of the under- constuction resort was pretty cool and looked almost science fictiony at first. Definitely had a unique sense of place. Loved the scene with Ruf and the medal wearing chick--funny, sweet and real. One of his few moments to really "act" in the film. Also thought it was good that they cast Rupert and Ruf as partners, because you really felt they knew each other (and of course we fans know they do-- having been buds before in The Last King) I'm sure it wasn't an acting stretch for them, ha, ha, I just liked seeing them together again, they work well together. And of course it goes without saying Ruf looked hunky, as usual.

as I do snowboarding myself, I just wondered how this film would be like... couldn't really imagine me Roof with a snowboard under his feet... I think this film isn't that bad as everyone of the critics say... it's an okay film, yes, the story is not fantastic, not very innovative, and the mabe the characters are "flat" (in one way, yes, but if you go deeper, then it's not like this).... and .... this must been said...awwww... RUFUS is so damn gorgeous in this film! he seems to be so natural, so easy, and I just would die to be the one he takes on his board... it's obviously not his best film, but I like his natural look there

Just finnished watching this one, it wasn't all that bad, had some fun stunts to see in it. I have to agree about the scene with Rufus and the girl on the same board, loved that! Lucky girl had a reason to hold on to him, Yep, caught in envy once again lol.

Time to watch it again, sista. Ski season has arrived so a few stunts should rev me up while thrilling again to some great closeups of Rufus.

hmm...the discussion about this Roof's film was ended up in April as i can see..nevermind -I'll continue just want to say this was one of the first Rufus' films i saw (after TKT, DB )and what i liked about it was that it was a contemporary one(aftereightlady was absolutely right:) ..I mean ,i could see Rufus dressed in ordinary clothes, wearing fleece jackets and jumpers ,not armours and period attire but generally i must agree with those of you who 've said the film is quite mediocre..the plot, the actors are OK (no big stars but it doesn't matter),..it's just mediocre 'cause when you compare that Rufus' role to others you realise what great potential and talent he has and how little of that he has shown in Extreme Ops.. still i think it was a good decision for Rufus to appear in the movie -by trial and error (=appearing in various films, with various actors, in various scenery) he will one day decide which movie types suit him best ...
