I'm glad it being too hot to sleep has had some benefit - I discovered on a Cumberbatch site that it looks like Rufus is in Episode 1. The tweeter I quoted seems to have been at the press screening for PE yesterday, with a Q&A with Tom Stoppard afterwards. Episode 1 was shown, so that must be where Rufus was seen (unless there was a showreel as well and he's actually in a later one, but somehow I think not). A spoiler-free write-up is here: www.cumberbatchforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=157Sounds terrific! (Now....to work early or back to bed to try for more sleep.....?? Choices, choices! )

LOL, Judy! I'll go for Beneful Thunderpatch. Sounds like something or someone straight from Harry Potter Thanks for digging up the link, GE2. That sounds as great as I'd expected it to be. And "hilarious" Rufus as the cherry on the cake?! YESSS!

Thanks GE2. Your sleeplessness is always our gain. Hope you catch up on some rest. Glad it looks like he will have a lighter role...hilarious...yay!

Great find, GE2! Thanks so much! - It's a pity that you could not get it under conditions that were more advantageous for you...

I just got fed up tossing and turning so got up for a while - I did go back to bed for an hour, though. I was rather relieved to find that Rufus has a lighter role, too - the subject matter seemed a bit heavy, so it's great to hear that there is seemingly a fair bit of humour, and even better that Rufus helps provide it! That write-up mentions again the possibility of a mid- to late-August start. Immediately after the Olympics, you reckon?

Rufus is playing a.............vicar!!!! It’s also a good deal funnier than I had anticipated - from the charming farce of Valentine and Christopher’s initial meeting, to the laugh out loud hilarity of Christopher and best friend Macmaster’s (Stephen Graham) breakfast meeting with Mrs Duchemin (featuring Rufus Sewell doing a marvellous comedic turn as a rather confused vicar) and a sequence we were shown from a future episode with General Campion (Roger Allam) lamenting a rather unfortunate set of travel orders. cumberbatchweb.tumblr.com/post/28218324971/parades-end-review#notesPlus confirmation that he is indeed in the first episode.

Some charity for poor darling Mr. Cumberbatch -- he's just intimidated by our sweet Rufus!
