KJ is on in the US 3-29-15 at 8pm-11pm EST. Repeats at 11pm EST.
Some one posted a tweet stating Stephen Moyer and Rufus Sewell are in Killing Jesus, so basically Jesus was killed by vampires. Made me laugh.

I have read a handful of reviews - they chose to criticize rather than to praise. <I shrugged my shoulder. The book was such a badly-written thingy, it can get only better than that.> Well, now I can say that in the first 5 minutes there is a Caiaphas whose voice is as soft as silk. Watch and LISTEN: on.natgeo.com/1CU2Wmp NatGeo posted two quotes... ...so we can be sure Caiaphas will go on doggedly - SPOILER: the argument will get so heated, at some point Pontius Pilate will punch him in the left eye Of course I was kidding. It is just a shadow, the Moroccan sun was having fun on Rufus's face, but it really looks like a black eye, doesn't it? The picture was posted by Eoin Macken iconosquare.com/p/947970754392837811_144875722 and he was in his usual humour mood: "This is just a sexy behind the scenes photo of some sexy men in sexy robes and sandals being sexy and serious "

Nice pictures Adina and thanks for the Nat Geo link. Enjoyed that, has given me a taster for tomorrow. Yep that voice.....chocolate/velvet. So clear, so smooth. Poor Rufus, what a costume. He must have been frying under all those robes/rugs!!

Thanks for the link Adina!
My local newspaper did not give this a good review, but People Magazine gave it a top 10 thing to watch this week. Not sure I take great stock in eighter.

Watched KJ last night.
WARNING...there are some disturbing scenes as expected.
I thought the politics surrounding the event were interesting to watch. Rufus was right at the center of it. He was excellent as usual. Not enough of him. We all know the story so I wont say anything else.

Forgot to add the amount of commercial interruptions was annoying!

Well, I've finally got around to watching the first half today...it's proven quite interesting for an agnostic like myself, who has never had a major interest in religion. I think, because it leans more towards the politics surrounding the crucifixion instead, it's been good. It's not heavy on the religious overtones at all. And, of course, Rufus Sewell does help. His Caiaphas has been - whilst sparingly used - absolutely brilliant. But, then again, that's to be expected of him really. I can't wait for the Sanhedrin Trial scenes in Part Two, because that's where Caiaphas shone, so to speak. And supposedly tore his clothes in outrage...

Forgot to add the amount of commercial interruptions was annoying! Which is why I recorded this and will watch later. (Maybe on Good Friday, that would be appropriate wouldn't it?) After seeing the discrepancies in running time in the U.S. v. the version shown in Europe I figured there would be a ton of commercials. The U.S. run time was 3 hours but when I watch it and fast forward through them I bet it will only be a bit over 2 hours.

That's about right Rachel. I really thought there was more commercial interruptions than we usually expect. I do think the series Below Zero looked good. Maybe because I saw it advertised every 10 minutes.

Finally I've seen "Killing Jesus" yesterday in TV... really good story. I really loved to see, the story was told from a different point of view - I've never thought the High Priest had such power over Rome. Rufus was really brilliant in KJ, although I always made a laugh about his look ... sorry... and I really like Stephen Moyer in this, too and Pontius Pilatus... well done, really good

Saw the second part last night...not quite as gripping - or as good - as the first, I thought, but at least Rufus was fantastic again. I thought the Sanhedrin trial scenes were lacking drama, and the true rage felt by some of the priests didn't really come through (no robe ripping by Caiaphas, sadly). It felt like they were trying to make them out as downright villains, like they couldn't think of a proper reason for the priests to want Jesus executed. It wasn't really explained, I don't recall. Then again, I might have just completely blanked over whenever Rufus was on-screen. But, I suppose some things got cut to make way for everything else they had to squeeze into that last half-hour, including 2 more commercial breaks... The number of breaks took me right out of it to be honest.

Well, where do I start with this?! 1st A gigantic moan. I do not usually watch Nat.Geo so I was appalled by the length and frequency of the ads. I had recorded both parts so I was able to fast forward the ads but it also meant I could see how much time was taken up. 4minsIt seemed to me that episodes and ads were the same length and they were not separated but flowed without warning into each other. Tell me, our American friends, do you always have to put up with that? if so, poor you and lucky us .Thank God for the BBC, even ITV does not torment us as badly as that. 2nd; a lesser moan. The wigs and beards were awful. With the exception of Jesus, Pilate, Annas and Caiaphas, I could not tell who was who. I did eventually recognise James ( lovely Aneurin Barnard) but I was looking out for him as he comes from Ogwr ( about twenty miles from us). 3rd Given the broad dramatic sweep of those few days, it was remarkably short; so much left out, included the 'politics'. But I have to say that the sets were quite exceptional, not at all enormous or Hollywoodish. As were the costumes. There is no way Jesus and his apostles would have worn sparkling white robes as usually seen. The script was quite good, not Biblically stilted but as people speak. The four principal characters were excellent. and Rufus as always superb. That soft clear voice with its undertones of menace. Those wide eyes sweeping around chillingly guarded. I wish it had been longer!!
