Kate - we're lucky - our workplace refuses to turn on the airconditioning until May. They say the weather is to changable until then. You have a very sensible employer! Ours is new and I think that they got the settings all wrong

Thank you Kygal and Rachel. Yes I did have a lovely Mothering Sunday! Of course most people say Mother's Day here too, but my grandma always said Mothering Sunday, which is the traditional name for it, but then I'm old fashioned and I like the old traditions. Kygal, my little dog Enzo is a rescue dog from Romania. He was already named Enzo when I adopted him through FB and brought him over to the UK. He had been picked up off the streets and was in a rescue centre. I saw his cute little face on FB and was a little lonely with just my cat Missy, so I decided it would get me out more to have a dog. He has done too. . I have had him 18 months now and he has really settled. He and Missy don't get on that well but they tolerate each other. He is good in that he knows he hasn't got to run at her. Since I have had him I have heard of lots of Enzo's. The first one being Enzo Ferrari! I hope you enjoyed your weekend too. You will have to bear with me as I don't know much about your American football, so can't comment yet. Apart from when I was a little girl my mum and dad and me emigrated from the UK to Canada (Hamilton, Ontario) and I used to go with my dad to watch the local football team called the Hamilton Tiger Cats. That was a long time ago. I wouldn't like to tell you how many years!

Lovely story Robela. We lost our 13 year old bull terrier in February. She was ill. When the time is right we plan to rescue. So many animals are in need of homes. My problem will be I will want to bring them all home. I grew up having Boxers. I guess you know when you see/meet THE one. The Enzo next door is an Italian Mastiff.
Silly how we love our sports. It is college basketball championship time here. My city and university have lots of tradition associated with our b-ball team. Not so much with other sports. We tend to recruit great talent that play one year and then go make millions playing pro ball. Oh well, they are fun to watch.
Have a wonderful day to all!

Hello all - I've been MIA because real life has kind of knocked me off center. A week ago a co-worker died. It was so very unexpected since he was one who was in good health, watched what he ate, and exercised regularly. Plus, it hit me a bit harder since he was 10 years younger than me. I think it always hits us hard when those younger than us die. Since he was one of my direct reports I spent most of my time last week dealing with the after-effects, dealing with payroll, dealing with human resources, dealing with all of the things, big and little, that crop up with the loss like this. And to make the week even sadder, I was checking the paper to see if a death notice has been published and discovered one of my husband's former students died at only 40 years old. Things are slowly getting back to normal, we're all getting a little more used to the the idea that our friend is gone.

I'm sorry about your bad news, Rachel. It's always sad to see young(er) people go. Plus I can imagine all the things that need to be dealt with after the sudden departure of a colleague

Thank you for your condolences everyone - things are slowly getting back to normal. It's been helped by the weather, it has been absolutely glorious around here. Warm days and just cool enough in the evening. The family actually met and had breakfast outside yesterday. We went to our new favorite breakfast place, Fancy Biscuit. What do they have? Uh, biscuits. Biscuits and gravy, chicken biscuits, biscuits with jam/jelly, you name it, they have it on a biscuit. Good food and the pleasure of eating outside in the sunshine.
I'm also glad Easter is late this year. It's always fun to see the little ones in their Easter finery and not have them bundled up in coats. It brings back memories! For those of you who celebrate - what are you having for dinner? My family doesn't like ham and I did rack of lamb last year. Would like to try something new and different. At Christmas I did a duck breast which was a hit. Sooo, any ideas?

We are having ham. We have had beef or pork tenderloin and even pasta for a change at Easter. Your ideas sound good to me Rachel.
Wonderful weather here to. I prefer a warmer/sunny climate..lol. People are out and about in full force. Lots of traffic this week. Racing and other events going on.
The breakfast place sounds good. We like a place called Heavenly Biscuit in Ft Myers Beach FL. The sweet rolls are excellent.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
