I wish I could stay in!
No snow hereabouts, but freezing temperatures.
As I do every year, I wish I was a bear or another creature that hibernates.

Absolutely. Today is one of them. I'm planning to leave work as early as I can to curl up at home with a book and a hot-water bottle.

No snow in our forecast but it is getting chiller. Thank goodness we aren't having the weather the Midwest is suffering with. I feel for Rueful, this morning in Chicago it was -30F. I can't begin to imagine what that's like.
On the personal front, husband has made the transition from pre-diabetic to diabetic. Right now he's too squeamish to do the finger pricking/injecting so I've been doing nurse duty. We began this weekend and the first finger prick took us almost an hour, he kept pulling his hand away. But three days in he's much better and claims he will be doing everything by himself within a day or two. The finger pricking/injecting isn't actually that hard - his doctor gave him injector pens that are almost full-proof (or should I say fool-proof) and very easy to use.

Snow and cold here. I cant imagine how others deal with the extreme cold on a regular basis. I guess its what you are used to. I am a wimpy southern girl.
Rachel, my dad had to transition from oral diabetic meds to injections. He never thought he could give himself a shot. He did learn and did well with it. The first stick is the hardest. I hope your hubby does well.
Stay warm y'all.

Very cold here but no snow. And it's not only cold but windy which makes it worse. I may have been born in the north but I'm with you kygal, I'm a delicate southern flower now. But let's look on the bright side - Friday is February 1st so winter is almost 2/3 over.

Happy belated birthday to kygirl! Hard to believe our kids are getting so grown-up.
LTM - sorry to hear that you're dealing with the evil white stuff. We've had crazy weather. Last week it was below freezing, today the high is 75F (24C). Then at the end of the of the week the high will be 45F (7C). The only good thing is that it was so cold last month that we shouldn't have to many mosquitoes this summer.
Things are going well on the home-front - husband is doing well on the low dose of insulin and isn't complaining about the twice daily finger pricks.

Thanks Rachel. Happy to hear hubby is doing well. Same weather trends here.
I am leaving in a week for a short beach trip. Looking forward to seafood and surf.
Have a great mid-week everyone!
