Thanks Famke - I think I have now got it! Hi everyone, just a note to introduce myself. I guess I can say that I have recently rediscovered Rufus. I first saw him in Middlemarch when it aired in Australia about 1995, absolutely loved it and him, and then I followed his career closely for a few years. But I lost touch with his work when he started to play the bad guy - I really just wanted to see him playing the sexy, romantic lead! Last Christmas I was given the Middlarch DVD and recently bought myself Dangerous Beauty which had been my favourite work, and I have fallen in love all over again! Now I am in serious Rufus overload and I DO want to watch his other films! And instead of just drooling over him I have tried to really analyse his acting, and I am simply amazed at how much he can convey with his eyes and facial expressions alone - he really is a great actor. He is also ageing just beautifully! So, there you have it.

Welcome again, Bandicoot! Don't be fooled by Tipou - all the parts she crossed out are, of course, her true feelings. She's trying to make you think her mind is higher than it really is, but you'll soon get to know her true character!! Please take some time to explore the media section in particular - lots of interviews (written and links to video/audio) there plus lots of lovely pics. There's more on our sister site www.roofsewell.com (although that hasn't been updated in a while - Maxx seems to have deserted us). Have fun!

Hi Bandicoot! (Love your name, by the way!) All I can say is that you're among like-minded people here! I think Tipou said it best for me as well.

Thanks everybody - and for the photos with the funny captions - I'm sure in time I'll work out how to do that too! I've had fun already catching up on some of Roof's articles - I hadn't realised quite how witty he is! Great site.

Hey Bandicoot!!! Glad you could come & join us!!! Now is it just me not paying attention, or are we seriously deprived of Rufus here in Aus? I too remember watching Middlemarch and Cold Comfort Farm back in the 90's but having just got Charles II on DVD, i certainly don't remember seeing THAT on the ABC (and it was only 4 or 5 years ago, so i think i would have!!!) I know Taming of the Shrew was shown, but what is going on with the THREE episodes of EH that we finally saw on 9!!!!! How can they deprive us of THIS face incredible acting talent???: I leant my copy of T&I to a friend for a couple of weeks, then had to hire it from the DVD shop because i missed Lord Marke too much - how tragic!!!! BTW, are you an Eastern Barred or Southern Brown??? Marsupials unite!!!!

Oooh, gorgeous pic, numbat! (You lent out your copy of T&I? What were you thinking?) Welcome (again), bandicoot, I really hope you have fun here. We're not as weird as we seem (with a few exceptions ). You're not as crazy as that other marsupial, are you?

Hi Numbat,
I'm definitely an Eastern-Barred marsdupial (actually I have a colony of them living on my property here - they are seriously cute).
You're totally right about being Rufus deprived in Aus and it is even worse in Tasmania as we don't get all of the mainland shows. EH didn't air here at all. Thank God for the internet!

You lucky thing having bandicoots living with you!!!! Are you in country Tas? I'm freezing my ass off today in Perth, so you must be cold.
I haven't watched EH online yet & have only seen one of the three episodes that 9 broadcast. Hanging out for the DVD!!!!! I didn't realise that you didn't get mainland TV.

Hi Numbat
We get only selected mainland TV - we don't have 7,9, and 10, only WIN and Southern Cross, and they play a mix of the other three major stations. It is always pot luck what we get to see.
Believe it or not, but I live only 7 minutes from the GPO, on 20 acres! Bandicoots, one tassie devil that I saw myself, potaroos, wallabies, possums - we've got them all. I don't know if you know Hobart, but it is nestled under a large mountain, and I live up that way a bit. The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day.

G'day Bandicoot! Do you think we Aussies need a campaign to get Win/9 to reinstate EH? I have seen them all (ahem torrent ahem) but what the heck we are seriously Rufus deprived.

I think we do quoll. It's absolutely crazy that they pulled it - it's not like they have anything better to put on!!!! Even if they shifted it back to 10.30. I expect they will pull it out in summer but we'll have the DVD by then (i hope!!!). Have resisted the temptation to watch online because i'm holding out for the DVD but i suspect i might weaken after i have watched everything else in Rufus's back catalogue!!! And bandicoot, it sounds so cool where you live - we can only dream of rolling hills and mountains over here in flat as a tack Perth!!! I wonder if we'll get someone called potaroo to join up - that would be a fun name!!!! The weather here has been filthy overnight with howling winds and rain (and those poor rich people who live right on the beach have had windows blown in and roofs blown off) I expect we'll send it over your way when we've finished with it though - just like we do with the 42 degree days in summer!!! We are very sharing over here
