At long last! I kind of thought it might, when there was no sign of a DVD release. According to the very end of this article on Emmanuelle Beart, it goes on general release on 18 September (what a nice present for me! ) About ****** time!!!

You lucky things - we have the DVD so i guess no such luck here. Vinyan is fantastic & still one of my faves (despite the silly end). It will be so powerful on the big screen!!!!
(& i said nothing about the heavy breathing in full cinema surround sound!!!)

Does this mean a premier in Leicester square, and Rufus in the flesh??? I sure hope so ;D

Wouldn't that be lovely? Unlikely, methinks - it's not a Hollywood blockbuster. Plus, he might well still be filming TPOTE then - the production company's website said filming continues through to November.
(That won't stop me keeping my fingers crossed)

I'm really happy for you, GE2! So have you resisted temptation then and not watched online? I can get it on demand from my cable co. but still am not ready for it. DN was a difficult enough film to digest (although I admired it greatly), but the themes involving the loss of a child, combined with the horror aspects, are putting me off vinyan, despite the lure of a certain scene discussed extensively in the vinyan thread.

Rueful, I have been resisting temptation, yes! I did wonder why the DVD wasn't out here, but because it was part-funded by a UK TV company, I was half-expecting it to pitch up on TV on their film channel first. Cinema is even better!

Yippee. Now which one of my friends can I persuade to come with me? Their eyes usually start glazing over when I'm talking about Rufus!! I can't believe I'm boring them!

I had that trouble too Lassie, until i got my friends to listen to Nick Silver on my ipod - now they are all suddenly Roof converts!!! Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but no woman alive can resist that sexy voice.

I have watched Vinyan online and it is heavy going but as maz said, Rufus is GORGEOUS in every scene!!! Prepare yourself for a difficult film in my opinion but well worth the shots of our man doing his thing to perfection...he is an absolute star.
EDIT: ..and if there is a chance of seeing him in the flesh in good old London Town when it is released, I will be there!!

Thats exactly what my friends do, or the rolling of the eyes, can they not see his appeal, really? One friend was rude and said he was ugly (think she needs to go to spec savers). I am so happy that it is showing here in England ;D. I'm gonna have to drag my hubby to see it . He will enjoy it though, every time he watches a Rufus movie he says it was rubbish but then I overhear him telling a friend that it was actually OK. (well apart from dirty weekend, but that was a bit weird)
