Ok, ladies - seeing as we are all fangirlies now, i thought we should do a REAL fangirlie thing and send Rufus a birthday card. Now i hatched up this plan laying by the pool in Singapore so forgive me if it's a bit off the wall (it's the tropical sun!!!), but seeing as we all exist in cyberspace, i thought it would be a cool idea to send a real card that has travelled all the way round the world by snail mail and been signed with actual pens by our real hands!!!!
I thought it should start off here - travel over Oz to Quoll & Bandicoot, then to the west coast of the US, travel west to east with a diversion into Canada, then to Europe and finally travel around the UK to end up with whoever wants to volunteer to send it to Rufus. It will be a tight timeframe to get to him by the end of October, but seeing as he'll still be in Hungary/Austria by then i guess it won't really matter if it's a little bit late.
Anyhow, to maintain everyone's anonymity online, i thought it best if firstly, everyone just let me know if you want to be involved and the area in which you live (not your actual address - just the town you live in). If you don't want to post that information, just PM me. I will then make up a map/plan of where it will travel which will be enclosed in the card - i think it would be nice if that stayed in the card so that Rufus could see where it has been and the spread of his fan base around the world.
Now this is the important bit - when you receive the card, you need to PM the person next on the list so that they can give you their mailing address. You will then need to sign the card and mail it on to them. This way, only one person ever needs to know your address (for example, if i am sending the card to quoll, the only address i need to know is hers. And if quoll then sends it to bandicoot, the only address she needs to know is bandicoots and so on). I think this should preserve everyone's privacy, but please, if you have any strong issues about privacy, then maybe it's best if you don't put your name forward to be included. I don't want to cause any personal problems for anyone - it's only a birthday card after all!!!!
So we had better get cracking!!!! - if you want to be involved, please post your town or PM me so i can get on and make the plan up. I'd like to get the card on it's way by this time next week, so please post or contact me ASAP. Sorry, but it will only complicate matters if we add people along the way, so you'll need to be on the plan by next Mon night (Aug 10) to be included.
Once i have made up the plan i will post it here (just names, not locations) so we know the order it is to travel and then you can post a message here as you receive it and send on. The main danger will be it being held up by someone who can't be contacted for their address, so if that happens we will have to pass that person by and go to the next one. So if you are on the plan, please keep an eye out for when the card should be coming to the person before you and let them know your address ASAP.
