I must say in this world of IM & email & plane travel, I'm astounded how slow snail mail actually is!!!! How quickly we forget how things were in the "olden days".
How has the weather been over there quoll??? Have you survived the howling winds and clouds of red dust???

Bloody awful! Yesterday was the weirdest thing - reckon half of Lake Eyre landed on us. Very high winds and there was a load of rain overnight - the wheelbarrow was full! Mind you, we needed the rain.
Yup, you are right about the snail mail thingy - always takes longer than you think it will. I'm amazed that people still post stuff, it would be interesting to see what the comparative volumes are for the past 10 years or so.

We put the card in the mail today. It should arrive at Laura's no later than Friday (Sept. 25, 2009).
I'd like to note that it is in an envelope that is a little larger than 8 1/2"x11". Our mail box was too small so the mailman left it on our front porch. So, ladies, as your turn comes, make sure you check to see if it was left outside.
Numbat, thank you, again, for all of the work you put into this project.

Perhaps we could mark the envelope DO NOT FOLD .Our postman will always try to squeeze things through. God does everything on this board sound dirty?

I'm sorry to say this, but we can't reach our target in time. There are 13 fans left and considering about 3 days for each, we are over the 25 days that are needed for that. Moreover isn't Texas closer to California than Washington? Why not to do the shorter way between us? Just a thought! Perhaps we can add Christmas Greetings to the card!

But wasn't it always expected he'd receive it late, because of still being away filming?

Agreed GE2. I don't think we ever had a hope of getting onto his agents desk by October 29 and even if it got there, Rufus isn't likely to read it until some time after anyway. We always said that we could only do our best.
Glo, Texas is closer to California, but California is closer to the State of Washington (where DGD is) than Texas is if you know what i mean!!!! From DGD it is going to wichi in Kansas and then down to Texas before coming back up on the east coast. I only know this because i studied my atlas carefully before coming up with the best route!!!
In any case, it has already been sent to DGD so we are just waiting on her to onforward it.

There's no way it would have got there in time, what with the amount of postal strikes here. Im going to hand deliver it to the agent. I need someone to pm me with the address.
