When I was at my youngest' school Christmas Fayre yesterday, I bought an old compilation Cd on the jumble stall. It was a collection of songs that had been used to accompany adverts , so some were familiar . It was the first song that took my attention , so much that I have played it over again so many times that my family scream " not again" when I play it.
It is called "Mad about the boy " and is sung by Dinah Washington who I believe has been dead for some time. If you know it bear with me.
It is a bluesy sort of song with a strong slow beat and Dinah's voice is a " 1,000 cigarettes" sort of voice but it is the lyric that is so amazing and sophisticated.. as follows
