Did everyone remember to listen? FABULOUS reading by Rufus! He does all the voices so well, and comes across as really enjoying himself. Shame there are only six episodes this time, but how lovely to have this to come home to - it made going back to work today a lot more bearable, knowing I had this to look forward to. If you want to record it, I downloaded the software Quoll recommended, and it does work! www.mp3mymp3.com/

YES! I just listened to it about an hour ago! We even get that little bit of him singing the "yo-ho-ho" pirate song! As to that MP3 program, their website noted that the program won't work on many Dell computers. Guess what kind of computer I have here at work and at home? Sure enough, it wouldn't record anything. So, I'm going to try recording it on my little ASUS netbook tonight.

Hey, Judy. I also have a dell, so I had a bit of problem at first. You probably already tried this, but in case you didn't: www.mp3mymp3.com/faq.htm

Thanks Rueful! I didn't want to mess around too much with that program today because I was on my work computer. Come to think of it, the problems may have been caused by the network's firewall. I have some problems with other programs.
I'm on my little netbook computer now, so I'm going to give it a try again!

Yes! It never ceases to amaze me how he creates so many different characters with just his voice. The portrayals are never hollow, no matter how small the "role". It also floors me how he can remember all the distinct voices he's chosen and switch back and forth among them so quickly. I'm so happy he chose to do this.

Rueful, I wonder if, like me, you wonder about the expressions on his face when he's putting on all the voices? I just have visions of all sorts of contortions going on, with the sound engineer convulsed in laughter! I'm also amazed that he can remember all the different voices - especially if he read these latest adventures "cold", as Rai has previously reported he did with the other stories. He's so good, I sometimes catch myself forgetting it's actually Rufus talking! I hope he had as much fun recording the stories as I'm having listening to them. My favourite character is still Mr Mipps. Bravo, Rufus!!

Bravo Rufus, indeed! I listened to this all the way through again and it was just as entertaining. I love Mr Mipps too. I wouldn't mind hearing the Further Adventures of Mr Mipps some day.
He's such a fantastic story teller. Maybe some day he can do one of those one-man shows on Broadway. He'd make a good Mark Twain, don't you think?
No, it had honestly never occurred to me that there would be someone paid to sit there, watching him work! Why didn't I train to be sound engineer? WHY???

Peach (and others who couldn't record it) ... If you'll PM me your e-mail address, I can send you an invitation to access the files where I have them stored online. You simply cannot miss out on these last six episodes!

Hi Tinkerdog, The www.roofsewell.com website is no longer being updated by its owner so adding the links there isn't possible. (Maybe Renata will be able to add the files on her new www.rufussewell.net site someday, though.) I have all the MP3 files stored online and I'd be happy to share them with you. I just sent you a PM asking for your e-mail address.
