Hello Rooftop!
I came across this site a couple days ago and after some extensive scavenging through the threads decided I should join. My name is Jenz. I'm 24 and live in Wisconsin. I work at a family owned bar/grill at a camping resort. I just went back to school to become a nurse, but in what time I can find I'm working on my dream.
I am attempting to be a screenwriter. I've always loved movies/tv/theatre and the stories they tell. I've always wanted to be a part of telling those stories. I've written bits and pieces of a few different movies but have been unable to finish one. I'm hoping to change that this spring. I think I've found a story that I'm really excited about writing and hope to enter it into a contest in May. Fingers crossed. Maybe someday I can write the perfect role for Rufus. I did say this was my dream job right?
Speaking of the man we're all here for, I can't pinpoint the exact moment I started admiring Rufus. I've always had an appreciation for fine British men who happen to act. Most happen to be men of a more experienced age much to the chagrin of my mother. Ralph Fiennes happens to be the man I'd give up everything for, but Rufus is closing in on him. I've seen movies over the years with Rufus and always found him talented and beautiful. He's always been on my list of favorite actors, but this past month...I've become enamored.
It started while I was watching the Illusionist for the second time with my mother and grandmother. The first time I saw it, I mainly took in the movie as a whole without focusing too much on details. But the second time, I honed in on Rufus. I was blown away. A few days later, I stumbled across A Knight's Tale on TV. That's when I decided I needed to see more of him. After watching Downloading Nancy and Taming of the Shrew on Netflix, Cold Comfort Farm on fancast, Helen of Troy on youtube, Paris, je t'aime on sundance channel, and remembering his various roles in The Holiday, Amazing Grace, Eleventh Hour, and Bless the Child, I was standing high on the "rooftop." After renting Tristan & Isolde, my feet are glued there.
Sorry for the long post, but I do love to write. I'm very happy to have stumbled across this site and am looking forward to getting to know everyone here.
