His part was tiny and I'm ashamed to admit I entirely missed it as an earth-shattering event (although I do recall thinking there was an extremely good-looking guy I didn't remember ever seeing before on screen), but the movie will forever be connected to my obsession for Rufus for this simple reason: It was the movie being shown on the flight I took home from London this summer. And it was my trip to England/Wales/Ireland and the desire to "hold on" to those wonderful memories that led my to rent TPOTE when I got back home. And then there was Tom … The rest is history - in tihe making.

Hullo back GE2, glad to be back, been a while. Computer crashed and burned, lucky for me I bot a brand spanking new one and loving it. Been a long while; having a blas catching up and reading the vast posts. In response to your post, yes I'm willing to bet the farm he enjoyed the locales, plus he looked simply fab in wardrobe don't you think? To anglophile, what a wonderful post above, After reading that book a summer ago I couldn't put it down for a minute, Tom, what a lovely character, he fit the role to a tee.

I agree that his part was way too small, but I'll bet he enjoyed being that most important small detail.

I suppose, in the very few scenes he did have he was a sight to behold, albeit too few scenes.

Hi, Peach. Nice to see you! I agree, he made the most of his onscreen moments. I loved the scene in the hotel lobby. Such a tiny moment, but his expression was so inscrutable. Just perfect. Also so gorgeous.

Hi Rueful, very glad to be back, thank you. Yes, that was a typical Ru scene, I also like the scene in the piazza whilst he was reading the paper. Damn he is fine to look at.

Watched The Tourist for the first time last night. It is such a shame his part was so tiny. So little time to ogle at him on screen!! Venice looks gorgeous as always and Ruf was well up on the looks front. Hope he enjoyed his time there filming.

It will be on Dutch TV this Saturday. I hope Rufus's part is not small. But I'm going to watch it

I'm afraid Rufus' role in this movie is one of those "if you blink you miss him" ones. Not a bad movie, but not a lot of Rufus.

Thanks Rachel. I can't stand Angelina Jolie, but for Rufus sake I will watch it.

Thanks Rachel. I can't stand Angelina Jolie, but for Rufus sake I will watch it. I agree Shopgirl. She is also in my favorite Clive Owen movie. We just have to suffer through.

Being a fan means suffering sometimes. The things we do for Rufus. 😉
