Waaaah, YES, KQ! Exactly what I've been saying for ages! (And I know there's at least one of the other ladies who will be happy to agree with us!) He'd be SO good in this - ironic, self-deprecating humour, a big mouth and a big heart, and a lot of laughs and suspense. Plus a nice romance. Oh, and don't forget about those tunics.

I was going through some Rufus interviews I had saved on my youtube favourites list and came across one that has been posted before: youtu.be/6u4BtEK91OsAnd even though I've seen this interview a gabillion and four times I didn't realize until now: Astronaut. Rufus. Rufus in space. Rufus in space as an astronaut. Why hasn't this happened yet?! Dear sci-fi writers, get to work. We need a fun, intelligent, maybe-not-the-person-you'd-expect-to-win-but-does-because-he's-a-good-guy green eyed, curly haired sexy astronaut tout suite. But according to the interview, he'll have to have an American accent. It'll be like Jacob Hood in space!!!! How cool would that be?? And Aerosmith can write a song for it... ;D

Good thought. I was actually thinking along the same lines recently (although I can't remember why).

Dont laugh.... but I am thinking cowboy. I like a show on A&E called Longmire (based on the books). He is a modern time Montana sheriff. Rufus would make a good Walt Longmire. Now that would be a different role for him!
But Jacob Hood in space or anywhere sounds good to me.

No everyone will think he is copying Depp who has just made one. Anyway he doesn't look dirty or course enough to play a cowboy. How about a racing driver - He'd like that i'm sure

I would love Rufus to star in a screwball comedy - we all adore his beauty and his talent - but we need to see this man in more comedies - as the hero not the villian! A remake of "It Happened One Night" maybe?
Oh... on the cowyboy theme - a Australian cowboy film ...sort of the "Sexy man from Snowy River" sort of thing!
Any other ideas?

A modern lawman/cowboy will do. I do like the idea of "Sexy Man from Snowly River." Outback guy works for me.
I do love the idea of a romantic comedy.
The poor guy probably deserves a vacation after all the work hes done lately to please us..haha.

I also think Rufus would be perfect in any Noel Coward play

Well, he's certainly overdue a return to the stage - Rock'n'Roll is a long time ago now.

Hans Hubermann from 'The Book Thief'. I saw Rufus in every single movement that character made. Every wink, every time he picked up his accordion, every time he spoke. Every smile, every personality trait, everything about the man, all I saw was Rufus. And I have heard rumors that there is a stage version of the book in the works. Edited to add: I just read that a film adaptation is going to be made. RUFUS!!!!

OMG, yes! It's been a while since I listened to the audiobook of this, i.e. long before my discovery of Rufus, but it would be a wonderful role for him!
