Nominees receive certificates as media covers event
Nominees sketch their contribution to the Drama Desk Art*Kives May 18th Awards Ceremony and Related Events
5:15 PM to 7:30 PM – VIP pre-show Reception
Executive Producer Robert R. Blume will host the Reception Honoring the Nominees at Hawaiian Tropic Zone, 729 Seventh Avenue (corner of 49th Street). Hawaiian Tropic Zone will be serving food prepared by their fabulous Chef, David Burke and soft drinks. Grey Goose will provide vodka martinis; Lubov Galleries will provide red & white wine; and Wine Cellar Sorbet will provide their special Gourmet Sorbet.
Special Ticket Required For This By Invitation Only Event (Invitees will have tickets to this party in their awards ticket envelopes).
7:30 PM to 8:15 PM – Transportation to Concert Hall
Gray Line NY Sightseeing double-decker buses will shuttle VIP party attendees from the Hawaiian Tropic Zone to the Concert Hall where Hit Show Club volunteers will assist them with taking their seats in the Concert Hall starting at 8:15pm.

Oh, Rai, all that effort for nothing - thanks anyway. Rufus wuz robbed! And by the same actor who robbed him of his BAFTA for TOTS - grrrr! I haven't been able to find any photos of Rufus (yet!), so I wonder if he attended? Anyhoo, the Drama Desk Awards are embroiled in a bit of scandal: goldderby.latimes.com/awards_goldderby/2008/05/will-scandal-an.html So they're not worthy of him, right?

I watched part of the webcast. What struck me was that half of the seats were empty and quite a number of award winners hadn't bothered to turn up. So no, it probably wasn't worth it. If Mark Rylance should also snatch the Tony from him, I'll get really frustrated. Although I loved his acceptance speech.
