Thanks for letting me know, Terri, that Alice was still in the play when you saw it - if you do find out anything, that would be great.
So....since you're in NY, when is it you're going again??!

GE2 - I'm definitely checking that out. I should be able to let you know tomorrow or the next day. I hope to get in a couple more times to see the show, but some personal things going on right now, so it's going to have to be a kind-of spur-of-the-moment, today's-a-good-day type of decision, not something planned out in advance.
I hope Alice was able to stay on for the duration of the show . . . I really liked her performance.

I called the Jacobs Theatre, which connects you to a central theater site, perhaps Ticketmaster. But according to them, Alice Eve is currently in the play, and they said they have no termination date or record of anyone else replacing her, which means she should be in in for the duration.

Thanks for the info Terri Mac. I guess the article that said she was leaving in Dec. due to a prior commitment was incorrect. I'm glad to hear it.

The Brits don't stand. They think we're nuts in the States. I'm not much of a stander. I'm trying to think of the last time I stood. You see it less at a straight play than a musical and you pretty much don't see it at all in the UK. Hi everyone! Back from my vacation and the internet-less world. I didn't know the Brits rarely did standing ovations. I do think we hop to our feet a bit too often in the US. I have felt compelled to leap onto my feet on several occasions, but most of the incidents I recall were at classical concerts. I have found myself really enjoying a stage, etc. performance, but being surprised that people around me lept to their feet, as I liked it, but not THAT much. So I guess if you get a standing "O" in the UK you know they really, really, REALLY liked you, unlike in the USA, where you might wonder if they just want to get a jump on getting to the parking lot first? Maybe that's just in LA! LOL.

I just saw this play in New York a month ago and I absolutely loved it.
I am wondering if someone out there could help me remember a quote from it. It was something like "childhood is a lost country. I returned and it was not there." Is this right?
Thanks
