Fantastic find, PGG!! Oh, how I love this play. I spoke to Raul Esparza - one of the actors in the new Broadway production of "Arcadia" - this weekend and he said the main reason he took the part was so that he could "be in the same room with Tom Stoppard".

This is a present, so I'm happy , (but it's only 2 minutes ). PS: The Rooftop is a very updated place, so sometimes it can be worth reading the older posts before posting something.

Wonderful The pictures we've got here made me want to see that play, but now I regret even more that I haven't had the chance to see it on stage Rufus has such a presence on stage

I would like to see the English version I could compare with the Czech performance, and seeing Rufus as Jan, of course. Here theater.nytimes.com/show/18405/Rock-n-Roll/overview I read a lot of reactionson the play, but I'm not surprised. This is a very challenging play, but beautiful, I love it.

Oh , thanks for the video link, PGG! I've never seen him in any of his plays, so this is quite a treat. It's amazing how good he is! This makes me really want to see him in something on stage, now. ;D

I loved the quote below from the New York times review:-- Soon, though, the rhythms of Mr. Nunn’s swift-footed staging had me hooked again. So did Mr. Sewell’s portrayal of a hopeful, smart young man who, though aged prematurely by a punishing totalitarian regime, holds on to the essence of what he always was. In the second act, when Jan returns to Cambridge in 1990, Mr. Sewell’s performance becomes that rare thing in acting: a palimpsest in which you see all the layers of a single life. Put it together with the youtube vid ,and you begin to get some idea of how brilliant Rufus's performance must have been. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIFwkf92_AI BTW You can download the youtube vid with the help of a popup

Thank you Francesca - wonderful to read. Really need to see this next time I'm in London (and even if it is just on a small TV screen)
